Do you have a HRM watch-style?

I've just hit my goal of 25 lbs. My reward to myself is a Polar HRM. Yay! Anyway, I'm wondering how the watch part fits. I've had freakishly large wrists my whole life and I'm worried I'm going to spend all this money and then not be able to use it because it won't fit.

So, how does it fit? Do you have larger wrists??

Thanks a bunch!

I just got the Polar FT4 and it has about a thousand adjustments on it. My wrists are about average and I'm mid-way through the squares. It looks like it would fit a small tree trunk. So you should be good to go. ;)

I have an FT7 and it has a large band. I'd say I have medium sized wrists and it fits great. It has a lot of notches on it also.

I have a polar FT4 and the watch fits quite well. I'm sure you can purchase a larger band or just go with a man's style (it most likely will run larger). I'm guessing many HRMs are designed for M or F (mine is pink....so I'm thinking woman on my particular model) and the bands are probably more generously sized.

I've just got a Polar FT7 and it has a lot of different sizes - I have small wrists and it fits me fine, but there are plenty of notches to let it both in and out!

I wouldn't worry too much about it not fitting, haha. I am sure Polar could get you a bigger strap if you *really* needed one, but I doubt that. I am a man with "big bones" (so my wife says), and it fits me just fine (well, the FT7 model, should be about the same).

I could measure my watch if you really want me to, but someone with an FT4 would be better to measure, just in case they're a little different.

Go to www.Polar.com and they have all the specs. There are male and female styles, and since overweight people use them I'm sure there will be one to fit you.

I also have the FT4 - one of the women's ones (mine is pink) and find that while it is infinitely adjustable the sides of the watch strap always dig in as they are fixed to the watch face. So my advice would be to get one of the man's ones.

I have small wrists and the band practically overlaps the screen, so you should be okay :)

Thanks everybody! I'm thinking of going with the FT7. It seems a little more geared towards fat burning.

Do they come it male or female? I'm having a hard time finding what I want without having to buy it from the Polar site.

I'm rethinking buying one of these. I can't find any answers to the questions I have, even on the Polar website. *shrug*

What are your questions? Is it just the sizing issue? Because if you buy on Amazon you can choose size. Men/women/unisex were the choices I had.

I'm not finding any choices. I can't even tell which are for men and which are for women. I went to Best Buy today and they had one. Not just one style, no just one. And it actually said it was for men. Okay, off to Target. They had two styles, one for men, one for women. The one for women looked small, and it was red. The color wasn't a huge deal but it wasn't really the style I wanted.

My husband said he would call around while I finished my shopping and when he called me back he said that of the three store he called, every person he talked to said they were phasing out the Polar brand and carrying something else. What?? Why?! My husband said that he doesn't know, he didn't think to ask. *Thunks head on wall*
