Have you ever lost 8lbs in one month before?

I am heading out on vacation in a month. My weight loss was slowed down for a while because of a knee injury but I am back on track now. Is it possible to lose 8lbs in a month safely for someone 5 3 who eats very healthy and works out 5-6 times per week?

    I'd say it's very do-able. They say that you can safely lose 2 lbs a week. Good luck!!

    It depends on how much you have to lose. If you have less than 20-30 lbs to lose it would be VERY difficult. With more to lose, definitely doable if you have great will power.

    i was folowing the south beach diet phase one...just cutting out carbs and sugar...and lost abt 10lbs a month working out 7times a week.....im 5'4

    I did, it was the first month I joined mfp. I think my body was in shock from eating right and exercising :laugh:

    It's doable. I lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks before. Did it stay off a long time, no. But it's possible.

    easily done IF you have a bit to lose....weight training is exceptional for that kind of drop

    I lost 40 in 3 months so that would be about 12 pounds a month.

    My first 3 months when I started I was averaging 10 lb losses a month. I was shocked because my normal was only 8 lbs a month. Iv gained and lost so many times...this is the last time Ill lose!!!
    I ate 1200 calories and worked out burning 500-800 on average 5 days a week, i rarely would eat back the calories. And I have not gained anything back.

    Unless you have a good bit to lose I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  • when i first started my journey to be healthy i was 263. I would say the first 4 months i easily lost 10-12 pounds a month. However now, i am 197 and im losing approximately 5-8 pounds. So i think its possible just work hard, eat healthy and u will look great!

    Hey There! Are you talking about when you zig zag your cals? Like 1200 Monday...Tues 1400...Wed 1000 Thurs 1600? Is that the 17 Day Cycle?

    Also I only need to lose another 11lbs total.

    I use to lose 5lbs a week taking herba life. Am fixing to post a topic to see if its considered healthy. But I know I use to eat whatever I wanted as long as I dranked their shake for 2meals. I was in school so my workout was walking around and while in rotc we use to do some workouts like pushups and situps(loved doin sit ups) oh and am.5'2

    I know I'm responding a little late to this thread, but I'm just curious if you hit your goal and what did you do to achieve it?
