Are you netting 1200 by eating back your exercise calories?

If it were me? I'd try to get closer to a NET of 1200 or so calories (1300 or so, really). Then figure it will be slow since you don't have much to lose...

Your NET shouldn't be below 1200. So the number after the exercise.

I agree with the other posts. At your age and activity level, you need to eat more than you are. Go with the net calorie total as they said. With that said, make sure it's quality food. If you burn 600 calories exercising, then add back 600 in fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean meats. Overall, you'll be more satisfied.

Make sure you're eating your exercise calories and fueling that body! See how it goes. If it's not working, up your calories.

4.5 hours tennis and running 2 miles a day is burning at LEAST 1000 calories. Yes you will lose weight if you keep doing what your doing and I'd imagine it would be pretty fast too. How do you have energy for all that when only eating 1200 a day?

i dont find it to be too little, i have berries and greek yogurt for breakfast, half a peanut butter and jelly with carrots and celery or an apple at lunch, then maybe some peanut butter pretzels or apple with peanut butter for snack, and then whatever my mom cooks for dinner! its plenty!!

This is my favourite calculator for predicting weight loss. Like other posters, I think you may be eating too little. Ultimately you need to do what works for you, but it doesn't hurt to check your math, just to make sure you're hitting the right numbers.

    Good luck!

if you have less than 25 lbs to lose 2 pounds per week may be impossible. and you should always eat back your exercise calories

110 is a pretty low weight for your height. You need to NET at a minimum, your BMI. That means you eat your BMI and then whatever you burned working out, while staying below your TDEE.

The calculator said that at 1200 cals/day with a moderate activity level you would be at your goal weight in 1 month and 30 days.
If you decide to eat 1627 calories/day it will take 3 months to reach your goal.
Now you get to decide what's more comfortable for you. But at 16 you're still growing, and your body needs fuel. I recommend eating at least the 1627 cals/day.

Seems right. So don't NET under 1597 calories. Your weight loss will come from 1997- 1452=542 (a 542 calories deficit).
That said: I'm with Spanaval who thinks 110 is pretty low. My general rule of thumb (ESPECIALLY for someone athletic): is 5'0 is 100lbs, and then give yourself 5LBS for every inch. In your case: 5'4" means 120 is a good weight.

    put another way:
    5'0" a good weight is 100
    5'1" a good weight is 105
    5'2" a good weight is 110....
    but that's just me.
