Anyone trying to get preg....

Options
Hi anyone on here trying to get healthier and also get pregnant at the same time? This June my hubby and I will be married for 2 years and we've been trying to get pregnant for about a year now. Got pregnant once really quick after only bout a month of trying but sadly I miscarried. :frown: and we've been trying ever since with my dr's help but so far none of the medications are helping so Monday I'm going to a fertility specialist. But I was tired of gaining weight and not being preg so i decided to shift all my focus into getting in shape instead of concentrating so much on trying to get pregnant. But I was just wondering if anyone else was in my same situation.

Getting pregnant has been a great motivator for me to lose my weight. I already have one son that is 20 months. I recently got my birth control removed and were currently trying. I'm at a healthy weight now and continuing my exercise and working out to help with hopefully a second one. It's so awesome to be in shape and healthy and bounce back after delievery! Keep it up and good luck :)

Also, there are a few groups on here for that..

Thank you so much!!!! I just get so discouraged and find it hard to talk to friends and family about it cause most people don't really understand they just think you go off birth control pills and bam you're preg but it def has not worked out like that for us.

Focus on losing the weight and forget about trying to conceive . It is a psychological game. When u want to get prego it doesn't happen, but when u change ur mind and forget about doing the deed. It happens believe me I have been there. When I wanted to get prego with #2 for 4 montths of nothing I did weight watcher got Down to my pre preg weight. Still trying and no luck. Then my brother asks me to be in his bridal party. I say yes. Now I don't want to get pregnant. I have a wedding to look forward to. Boom within a month or so I was pregnant. Any way it was a much better pregnancy because I was in better shape than the first time. Anyway everyone's body is different and focus on what u want. I wish u lots of luck.

My husband and I are in a very similar situation. We have been married for 1 1/2 years and have been trying to conceive for a year now. We went through one round of fertility and I decided to take a break before trying different fertility options to try and lose weight and get back into shape. I've made the decision in November and have lost 15lbs since then. I still have a ways to go, but am hoping that this will jump start my fertility health into the right direction. It has been frustrating thus far watching friends get pregnant and be blessed with growing families, but I have to believe that this will work.

We have tried several months of Clomid and went up to the highest dose you can go and it never worked so this month we are taking a break with no meds. I have to say it's been a lot more fun and less stressful. I'm hoping that maybe something will happen this month but only God knows!!!! and yes it is so frustrating and heartbreaking everytime someone gets preg or has a baby....but i'm like you one day something has to work and we have to keep our heads up!! Good luck to ya'll cause I know how it is and sending lots of baby dust ya'lls way!!!

I had friends in the same situation. One couple - it took 10 years of trying and then they finally had a child. They did try for a second child but after a few years, stopped trying. 10 years after the first child she got pregnant and they had their second child.

Second couple - trying, saw fertility specialists, etc. Took about 5 years and they had their first child. Doctor told them not to worry about birth control after the first since it took so long. 13 months after the first child was born, their second child was born.

Good luck to you and your husband.

One of the biggest myths out there is that we are really fertile. There is a great book: Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Tony Weschler that gives great info on how to track your cycles. It is a great help to getting pregnant, and it is a great help not to get pregnant.

We are fertile only 2-3 days per month, but the the birth control industry is making huge profits telling us otherwise. Because of patterns leading us to suppress childbearing in our 20ies, when we are most fertile, Big Pharma reaps again when we try to turn on what they turned off.

Thanks everyone for the comments!!!! They have been very supportive and that's what i needed today cause i was feeling very discouraged about things. I forgot to mention i also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and i'm sure that has some effect on the whole getting preg thing even though every dr i've been to so far says it's not!!
