Whole grains

Hi I was wondering do anybody eat whole grains and rather you do or don't could you please explain why you do or don't eat them. I just recently found out that whole grains are bad for you and I'm a bit shocked because I eat th daily. I mean I still lose weight but just trying to find out what would happen if you don't eat them which I'm about to try real soon.

    I've never heard anything even remotely close to "whole grains are bad for you" but sure enough, a quick Google search does turn up results saying just that.

    Of course, you can Google just about anything and find a page that supports what you want to hear.

    I am no doctor, but I would say that whole grains are just fine as a part of a balanced diet.

    Since when were whole grains BAD for you? Where'd you get this ridiculous farce of info? They're what help your diet, not harm it. I've heard some crazy things in my time, but I think this one tops it!!! :noway: I'd like to have your source so I can check this out for myself if it was online if you don't mind...

    Bah. Everything is bad for you, everything causes cancer. Yes, gluten is bad for some people. Yes, you should probably limit your carb intake unless you are really active. But whole grains are definitely better for you than bleach white bread and doughy white rice. Everything in moderation. That's what makes us omnivores.

    wheat is bad for people with gluten intolerance or allergies. I avoid it because I am addicted, it makes me tired and it impedes my weight loss. I gave it up almost 2 years ago now and have never looked back. Of course everyone should do what is right for them. Do what is right for you and if you do not have a problem with it, then have it in moderation if you really like it. There are lots of substitutes (I love quinoa) but if you don't have an issue then don't change it based on something you have read. You really can find everything written on the internet.

    For allergies or actual gluten intolerance and not the new fad; then yes it can be bad. However if neither implies to you it's a heck of alot better than white, enriched products. We only buy 100% Whole Wheat or Whole Grain foods; nothing is ever enriched products.
  • Thanks for everyone input on this!! I mean I never thought it was a bad thing. Someone told me yesterday that it was sonwhat I usually do is do my research and that's how I got the proof. Now to each its own of course. I have heard of some people who can't tolerate it and so their doctor told them to remove it from their diet all together and when they did they saw a difference. Anther of fact this was on the news recently. I googled this info that's how I found it. Now me I don't see what it's doing to me as of yet so I'm going to continue to eat it like I've been doing in moderation until I see it's not agreein with my body. Now what I will do is try and cut it out to see what happens to my body just so I can say I did try and it did this or what not. It's also says it continue to belly fat and diabetes and more. Now I do have belly fat that's not going away to quickly as the rest of my body and I've lost 40 pounds so once I get to my goal I weight I guess I will see.
