A poll: ink double standards
There was just ~another~ poll on yet again, why or why not people like tattoos on girls. (the OP did do a good job at asking the question though - i don't think she was being rude at all, that's why i got into that one, usually they just piss me off)
Onto my question ...
Isn't the decision of getting a tattoo, although obviously more permanent, the same thing as asking someone why they decided to pick the outfit they wanted to wear that day? True, they didn't pick the outfit to wear everyday fo the rest of their life, BUT for all intents and purposes, the question is about your "first impression" about someone with a tattoo is pretty much exactly the same thing.
would it be cool if i started a poll to ask the question "Poll - fat girls who wear spandex. What do you think about them? Yay or Nay? Is there a social stigma when seeing it?"
(i know, i know, i'm beating a dead horse and this thread can just die an uncommented death. but yeah. i had to say it.)

I was pretty surprised about the responses, for a country that is so diverse there are more people here who judge rather than where I come from.0

Please start the "fat girls wearing spandex" poll.
It's always fun to see the hypocrites crawl out of the woodwork,0 -

I believe the double standard is crap too, your body is your temple, and you should decorate your temple however the f you want to \m/0

These threads make me want to go get another tattoo.....0

First impressions are undeniable. People, whether consciously or unconsciously will judge another even just a little based on their first appearance and attitude towards them.
As for tattoos, the only time I even think anything of them are if I personally find that particular one ugly or pretty. I don't really care what another person does with their body in regards to a tattoo. That's up to them, not me.
I don't think I have this divine right to judge others based on tattoos. That's silly.
I loooovve this guys tattoo:

Naw, there are a few people that can pull it off - they just aren't the ones that wear it!0 -
Why can't you just get a vagdazzle?0
-
btw- what is the double standard?0

HAHAHA DIE THREAD DIE!
I like your tats!0 -
Heres my take on the PC crap. Wear what you want ,ink, pierce, dress how you want and say what you want. Everyone needs TGTFO themselves. FYI I love ink and pierceings on men & women.0

It's a standard...that's doubled.0 -
People tend to judge what they don't understand... it is pure ignorance...0
-
People have been getting tattooed for only 5,300 years or so. Give it time, the critics will come around.0

FWIW I don't really like tats on anyone. Except Ami James. I'd have so many of his babies...
But really, I just like regular ol' skin. Not ignorance. A preference. And I don't think ink looks "worse" on women.0 -
People love to find reasons to look down on someone else. Tattoos are a lousy one. I much prefer to hate people for being monumentally stupid. There are a lot of those f'ers running around!0
-
btw- what is the double standard?
Perhaps an analogy:
Imagine a double cheeseburger.
Yum.0 -
Agreed. I don't really care about other people's tattoos, even though I'm tattoo-free. Like you said, it's like an outfit. If you like them great, if you don't then don't get one.
I'm over the boob posts too. Yes, breasts tend to shrink when you lose weight. If it bothers you that bad, get a boob job. You don't have to ask complete strangers their opinion on it.0 -
I think tats cover something far more beautiful (skin). I don't like them, my husband has several and to me it is like when you look at something beautiful in nature that has had graffiti tagged on it. I would much rather see the real thing than have it covered up.
Don't laugh, but I wish so bad I could just see all of him, I feel like I am missing the part of him he covered up and it is like he is covered up all the time0
