Anyone get nauseous after or while working out?

I haven't been very active over the last year but I recently started working out. I seem to get nauseous after 40 minutes or after pushing myself. I did a step class last weekend in which I burned about 800 calories as it was intense. At the end of the class, I felt a little dizzy and nauseous. I was wondering if this happens to anyone else. Oh, also, I get this way when doing my Budokon yoga CD but I think it's because there are a lot of up and down movements. I get motion sickness easy. However, the 1 - 1 1/2 Zumba class has not made me sick though it doesn't have a lot of up and down movements - it is a great calorie burner class! I've done the Zumba class twice and both times I didn't get sick but the Step class was even more intense. Feed back would be awesome.

    Are you eating before exercising? I find that having something like a banana or a piece of toast would help.

    I don't get that way personally, but I see it happening a lot on the fitness/ weight loss shows I watch. I guess it's pretty common at first.

    I will try the banana and piece of toast (plus I'll bring a bottle of water) before exercising tomorrow morning - I have the step class again. I didn't eat much last time because I was in a rush.
  • are you checking your heart rate?

    If you push yourself too much, your body produces lactic acid faster than it gets rid of it, which sometimes makes ME feel nauseous.

    make sure you are getting enough water, these sound like classic dehydration symptoms.

    I used to, but now I have some penut butter on a rice cake 1/2 hour before workout and 16 oz. right before and I get through an hour intense workout with no problems.

    Sometimes I have this when I push myself real hard and sometime my thoat wants to close. I want to choke.. I have to slow down when it happens but can't do complete stop..and drink water.. then I can finish my workout

    I did the step class again today and I didn't get sick. I had half a bottle before I went to the class and drank the rest during the class. I also had a banana and a whole wheat Eggo. I didn't want to eat a lot before working out. I probably pushed myself too hard last week. I was the largest girl there but I was keeping up with everyone else. I'm stubborn like that! :)
