Sedentary? or Not?

When setting up my profile to calculate my daily net calories, we're prompted for our activity level. I have a desk job, which they would indicate (and I would expect) makes me "Sedentary:".
However, for exercise I walk 60-90 minutes every day. Should I be bumping my activity level up a notch?

Set yourself to sedentary and then log your exercise0

No. If you have a desk job where you sit 6 to 7 hours a day, your setting should be sedentary.0

See - here's where it gets confusing. According to calculations I'm told that my BMR is 1,790 calories/day. But with my settings at "Sedentary" MFP recommends my net calories/day at only 1,240. Even at "Lightly Active" it still only calculates out to 1,420/day.
I see all the postings about not eating below your BMR, so I thought I was doing the calculations wrong.0
