    HERE!!! I have been a Dr Who fan since pre-teens. Was raised on Star Trek, Star Wars and any Sci-Fi I could get my hands on. Still a major geek, who loves SteamPunk, Ren Fairs, comic books, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and lots of other great shows, movies and books.

    I was a nerd/geek long before it was considered cool. Now it's been co-opted by mass culture. It's sad really. I'd switch to a new way of being if it weren't just who I am.

    Hahah kinda same with me :grumble: people actually think I fake being a "gamer girl" to get attention! :noway: YEAH I've been "faking" since I was little :grumble:

    Yea same with me although everyone is pretty shocked when I tell about the geeky stuff I like lol. It's like I was to cool to be a geek at the time. IMO I like what I like it's all good.

    At the risk of sounding like a hipster, most of the things I like are so mainstream nowadays that they can hardly be classified as geeky (such as video games), and the only things I'm really obsessively fanatic over is pro wrestling and science fiction/fantasy genres. I sure do share that heaping tablespoon of social awkwardness with most geeks though.

    I'm a videogame geek and LoTR, Star Trek (mostly new movies). Sci-fi movies etc.

    This weekend I am all about Diablo 3 and TERA (mmo). Played WoW for 6 years.

    I used to just be a geek by proxy. But now I think I have to admit it. I do not ever watch sports, nor do any of the 4 males in my household. we watch anything with the word star in it, or space....90% of the time the space channel is on. Dr. Who, Star Trek TNG, Voyager, Stargate, etc. etc.
