I love JM stuff! She totally kicks my butt. I record most as circuit training, unless it's a true cardio dvd.

Best and most accurate is a Heart Rate Monitor and add the Excercise separately....I usually name mine as JM RI30 or whichever one you are doing. I am currently doing Ripped in 30, week 4 day 1 and she's killing me! Best of luck!

I am doing it next week...I did do level 1 on it and it was really great. You can do either L1 or 2 or both and they're about 40 mn each. She incorporates yoga, martial arts to the overall workout. I'm sure you'll like it. I'm almost done RI 30 and looking forward to that one before doing the Revolution. Good luck!

Thanks! With the levels, should you progress after a few weeks onto the higher level or aim to do both levels together? Oh!! Ripped in 30? I completely forgot about that one :] I have some shopping to do I guess

my wife and I do jillians 30 day shred video along with the other biggest loser series videos if you haven't tried them you should, cardio max and power sculpt are good ones. when my wife first bought the videos i have to admit I was skeptical to say the least i actually was foolish enough to suggest that they wouldn't do anything because they are geared towards morbidly obese people. Although we obviously both wanted to trim down we considered ourselves fairly fit... big surprise these workouts will kick your but and continue to do so for months to come... My wife runs and i strength train primarily these workouts are a great compliment to my routine for cardio and rainy days for my wife. We log the calorie burn in as either aerobic or calisthenics depending on the video. Hope this helps you.

That decision will have to be yours, once you try it. you may love doing them together and there is the option for that. I have found RI 30 a little tougher than L1 of it..but haven't done the whole thing. May do a JM Marathon tomorrow...feel free to Friend me and we can find out together lol!

Jillian Michaels is the trainer I love to hate ... or hate to love  I'm doing Extreme Shed and Shed, the full 60 minute workout (oh my!) right now.

I log it as circuit training. Some day I would love to have a HRM and get a "more accurate" reading, but for now, it seems to be working - I eat back most exercise calories and most weeks the scale seems to be moving in the right direction.

It is kicking my but right now! But I'm about able to get through the entire (level 1 and 2 together) video bwahaha

I started with 30 DS. I am not a big fan of 30DS. This could be b/c I like a longer workout then 20 minutes, but it does give a great workout for such a short period of time. I just started doing no more trouble zone and it is one of my favorite strength training workouts. I try to do it 2 x a week as I am really trying to focus on toning my arms and abs. You can also find Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism cardio circuits free on youtube.

The best way to count calories is to get a HRM.

I highly recommend Ripped in 30. It is a great workout. Now i'm doing JM's Body Revolution, it's kicking my butt, but would also recommend it too. Body Revolution is a little expensive though. I agree that a HR monitor is the best way to track it but if you don't have one, use aerobics or circuit training.
  • I'm doing her Kickbox FastFix. I record it as kickboxing. There are 3 different workouts, 20 mins. each. I usually log each workout as 17 mins because there's 2 mins of streching and 1 min extra for what you don't do between each set of techniques.
