BBQ with friends

So, I went to a BBQ with friends and I can't for the life of me figure out how to log it. I know the chicken was marinated in something. The baked beans and potato salad were all homeaide. There was a homeaide spinich dip with some chips - no clue how to log that one either! I've been doing so well for the last 2 weeks that I'm thinking I'll just let the rest of the day slide with logging everything, be sure to hit the treadmill or something when I get off work tonight, and start fresh in the morning. I used discretion with the eating, but was so busy chatting that I lost count of the chips and dip during the cooking time!
Oh well - it's one day out of 2 weeks right? As long as I don't make this a habit, I shouldn't see this hurt me - we hope!!!

Sometimes if I have a pot luck or BBQ, I just quick add the rest of my calories XD0

Try looking it up in the database... it may not perfectly match what you ate, but as you point out, it's just one meal out of a bunch.
Good terms to use... "generic", "homemade", "bbq", "barbecue", "barbeque". For this, the "homemade" is probably better than the "generic" because the restaurant or take-out varieties usually use higher calorie ingredients than homemade recipes. (I'm assuming your hosts made the bbq instead of buying something pre-made.)0 -
you could always look up things in the database as "generic"...thats what i would do....if you want to log it....if not, your idea is great, these things are part of life and can be enjoyed in moderation. remember lifestyle change

tonight i had hibachi veggies, steak and shrimp from a local place....i just look it up in the database as generic/or from restaurants since the local place has no nutrition facts to look at.0 -
Yes - everything was homeaide. I just looked in the database and did a kind-of guesstimate. It looks like I'm only about 485 calories over for today and haven't exercized any. I do get off work in about 3 hours so that might just be some good motivation to go hit the treadmill or something - try to earn back some of those. The hardest guesstimate I had was the amount of chips I had - didn't keep track and should have. I was just having so much fun chatting LOL!!0
