I wouldn't worry in the scope of a single day. It's going to make little difference both in terms of health and weight. If you go crazy, though, you'll set yourself back a bunch of calorie but that's it. You aren't going to be unhealthy from eating anything you want there.0

fish or grilled chicken tacos in a corn shell that has not been fried0
-
I get the veggie fajitas, no butter or oil just dry grilled with black beans, pico de gallo and guacamole. No cheese, sour cream and no tortillas.0

Fajitas0

SOUPA DE POLLO!!! MY FAVE!!!0

Meat, veggies, beans, guacamole. Stay away from the rice.0

Sweet! I've never tried these, I used to only get enchiladas. Thanks!0

I do fajitas without the sides or tortillas. Sometimes I am able to find Vegetarian Fajitas, but chicken, fish or shrimp will do!0

I love Pozole - delicious soup with Pork. 2 versions - white (blanco) or red (roja) and you typically top the soup with shredded cabbage and onions. Delicious and filling and probably under around 300 calories. Perhaps some cerviche, too.....enjoy!0

Wow, you guys are fast. By the time my comment went in, 10 more responses. Why stay away from the rice?0

It depends on your taste, dietary needs, and what other food items you have recently eaten.0

The rice a lot of time has lard or oil in it, so the calories are higher. Plus a plain cup of rice is 200 calories, so with all of the extras they put in it you are looking at 300-500 calories.0

Rice tends to have a lot of carbs and can add up quickly if eating out.0

I would avoid chips they are always fried in fat and pick choices with little cheese, cheese is very high calorie. If you can avoid tortillas too. Water is good LOL. I usually get the fajitas with no tortillas and eat them without cheese / sour cream.0

Ceviche is the best choice. Very few calories and a lot of protein.0

Chicken fajita salad with salsa for dressing or chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and skip the cheese. Yum. Now I want Mexican food! :sad:0

Why does this mean the op shouldnt eat rice today?0 -
Some restaurants offer black beans as a vegetarian alternative to refried beans. Refried beans often have a lot of lard and pork.0

I go for the chicken fajitas because I like them. People people people ..it's about the calories. fat does not make you fat. carbs do not make you fat..eating more calories than you use makes you fat..eat what you want and log it..just try not to go over. I log it from my phone while deciding, to see the best choices.. the MFP food database is massive !!0

I love getting carne asada tacos!0

I either just eat half of what the plate of what sounds good, or get a taco salad, with dressing on the side. I only put about half the dressing on the salad, and just take a few bites of the tortilla bowl.0

I order fish (soft) tacos at our favorite mexican restaurant. It comes with three of them, grilled tilapia, lettuce, avocado, pico de gallo and a creamy chipotle sauce. I usually dump the fish from one taco into the other two, to cut down to two tortillas. If I have calories to spare, I get the creamy chipotle sauce on the side and use some, if I don't have calories to spare, I use hot sauce instead.
YUMMY
Chile Colorado isn't too bad either. I usually split it with my husband and order the "salad" (lettuce, tomato, avocado) instead of rice.0 -
I don't know about healthy, but I can't go to a Mexican restaurant without ordering guac.
I had some today, actually...with the chick in my pic. I didn't share with her, though. :blushing:0 -

Fried rice at a Mexican restaurant? Is this real life?0 -
If she is looking to save calories, she shouldn't eat it, or eat only a little of it. She was asking for low calorie options. I thought that was the information she was looking for. She can eat whatever she wants, she knows how many calories she has left for the day and how she wants to use them.0

I had Mexican for lunch today! I had a cheese quesadilla and some guacamole salad! I also had a few chips with salsa. After the guilt set in, I ran 6 miles!0
