Dr. Oz says to workout before you eat. For a while I thought I got queasy if I didn't eat first. I've figured out that I only get queasy if I don't drink water and get hydrated before I exercise.0

I don't eat before I work out. I often exercise at 4:00 AM and don't eat until noon.
At about 11:30 this morning I'm going to go run 5 miles or so. I haven't eaten since 8:00 last night. I don't foresee any problems.0 -
I am at the gym by 0500 so I do it on an empty stomach. If I do something later in the day, I try to make sure it has been a while since I ate. I get sick to my stomach if I workout with food in the belly!0

You should drop the fat burner.
I do not eat before exercising. I feel better that way.0 -
if I eat before working out, I get indigested/sick.0

When I work out in the morning it is on an empty stomach. At night it is almost always right after dinner. Or maybe 30-60min after dinner.0

I lift most days. I get a solid meal in first or I'm just begging for a bad day. I think everyone's different but I try to eat something with good carbs and proteins within about 1 hour of when I'm going to workout.0

There has been a fair bit of controversy over the benefits of exercising in a fasted state. Some claim you burn more fat some don't.
For me it's a matter of comfort. I like to run in the morning. If I ate before I ran I'd have to get up a couple of hours earlier as I hate running with a full stomach. Having said that for my Sunday long runs I do eat before running as the runs vary between 1.5 and 2 hrs.

I can't workout on a full stomach.0

I don't really think it matters, all depends on what works for you. I HAVE to eat about 30 mins to an hour before I work out so I'm fueled enough. I can't go as hard as I want to if I've got an empty stomach, but I know people who get nauseous if they've eaten before working out. As far as burning fat or not, I honestly don't think it makes a difference.0

I never workout on an empty stomach if I can help it. A small meal up to 30-60 minutes before my workout is what I like to do.
No idea if there are any actual benefits versus an empty stomach, but it lets me feel like I'm ready to push myself and work hard because I know I have some gas in the tank0 -

Well if Dr. Oz says it, it MUST be true.0 -
I don't work out right after eating, but I don't like working out on an entirely empty stomach. Like on runs first thing in the morning, I always have a bowl of oatmeal about a half hour before I go, because it helps when I'm done. If I'm not hydrated or have a little bit of fuel, after I'm done I get really light-headed and nauseous.0

I don't do well with low blood sugar (major understatement)... I never exercise while hungry..0

I don't really think it matters0

I meet with my trainer at 6:00 am, so I work out on an empty stomach. Hasn't caused any issues.0

Depends on how empty my stomach is... If I didn't eat much for dinner the night before, my tank is completely empty so I'd have to eat something before working out, even if it's just a protein bar or a banana, otherwise I won't have the energy to give it my all. But if I had a good meal, I'm usually good for a morning workout without food.0

First question......Why are you taking fat burners? Second question.....What is your definition of a workout? If you are going for a 30 min run or silimar than do whatever works for you. If you are lifting heavy or doing very high intensity cardio for a prolonged period of time I would strongly suggest eating something first.0

I don't have a big meal but I have a little something to eat before I workout - even if it's a piece of fruit or some protein. Definitely have protein afterwards (cheese or I find a banana is good, even 1/2 a Larabar)
I usually hit the gym after work (4:30 - 5:00) so my afternoon snack is usually Greek Yogurt which has lots of protein and fills me up and then I'll have supper about 6:30 or 7:00 when I'm done.
For me most important - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate - I'll drink lots of water before, during and after and depending on my workout maybe even a bit of chocolate milk after to replenish some of what's been lost during my workout.0 -
Well if Dr Oz says it it must be true.I don't really think it matters0

I eat about an hour before I work out (something with protein) and a banana after I'm done0

Doctor Oz and Fat Burners... This is bound to go splendidly0
-
Yes. I have to, otherwise I'll pass out.0

I just have a small snack if I'm working out in the morning. Usually when I wake up my stomach is growling.( I like that feeling ) Then I have a meal after.
If my workout is later in the day I try to wait a couple of hours to let my meal settle. I agree that it has to be with what you're comfortable with.0 -
I only have coffee before working out if I go early in the morning. Otherwise, I eat a light meal or snack 1-2 hours before working out. Works for me.0
-
I cannot eat right before I work out or I will want to get sick and feel more sluggish. I work out at night, so I try not to eat 30 minutes to an hour prior then eat dinner afterwards.0
-
If I'm doing only Cardio, yes empty stomach. When lifting though, your muscles require good fuel to perform. I do a 1/2 scoop protein and a small amount of a good quality carb like 1/2 a banana.0

always!!!0

I find that I feel better (wether it's mentally or physically) if I have an apple, banana, string cheese, toast, or some yogurt (something light) before I workout. I think everyone is different so see how you feel! I also try to eat something small right after I workout but that usually takes some 'forcing' because I'm just thirsty, not hungry. In the long-run though, I feel much better so I do it because it works for me.0

I do not eat before early morning workouts. But I do drink a little water. The only time I eat a little before exercise is when I go to the gym at 8:15 am on Saturdays.0
