Not sure if they are all indies but some are obscure none the less:

    No Mans Land
    Vampires
    Run Lola Run
    City of Lost Children
    Mirror Mask
    Pan's Labrynth
    Quest for Fire
    Trekkers
    Trekkers 2
    Clerks
    Knightriders
    Dark City
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series (not the Hollywood reboot)
    Like Water for Chocolate
    Perfume
    Eraserhead
    Pi
    Crash
    11:14
    Ogre

    And
Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story (which I was in as a referee at the end as well as being a consultant for the paintball scenes)

Tons more at home that I will look at when I get home- I love indies both domestic and foreign

I'd have to cast my vote for River Red! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0158154/?licb=0.684904727477787 But only because I was an extra during filming!

It made me cry. I've actually watched it twice but I can see why others might not like it.

I forgot to also mention "Heavy Metal Parking Lot" and "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains"
  • Pan's Labyrinth

How did I miss this off my list?!
Beautiful film, but I'm biased as I really like Guillermo del Toro.

Run, Lola Run. L'Amant (The Lover). Not exactly indie, but Boondock Saints is everything a movie should be.

Cashback -if you like artsy love stories
May -if you're into a really random movie that's pretty sick
    Repo! The Genetic Opera
Ok, I have a disclaimer for that one. If you like/can get past the idea of a musical *this is a rock musical which has opera and other genres as well* AND you can get past Alexa Vega and Paris Hilton (I know it sounds like this would be a train wreck, but it is worth a watch) This was made before Repo Men and my opinion was WAY more awesome. Sarah Brightman is in this as well as Bill Moseley

the Fat Boy Chronicles and the Full Monty are my favorite indie movies

I didn't know Full Monty was indie. I put it with Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and whatnot.

The Lord of War and The Constant Gardener were nice as well. Maybe not strictly underground...

You guys have great taste in movies. There are some of my fav's mentioned already! Can't wait to check out the rest.

A movie that I make all of my friends watch is the Russian movie 'Nightwatch'. It's like the matrix with witches, shapshifters and vampires. Not really indie but of course being Russian it didn't receive much attention in the US. The Sequel 'Daywatch' is ok. Still worth a couple of hours.
