How do I determing which setting to use sedentary, lightly active, active or very active. I work 4 12 hour shifts - I am seated at my desk and I am off for four days. I do work out on my hour lunch and get out with the dogs for a minimum hour hike.
On days off I hike minimum 1.5 hours, run every other day and have started weight training - I am seeing differences in my body but not differences in the scale. I quit worrying about what the scale says - but obviously would still like to see it go down.
Please give me some advice what you think the setting should be
Thanks
JB

I always work on the below:
sedentary - sitting down at computer
lightly active - walking dog
active - running around with kids at park/jogging (able to converse still/slight sweat)
very active (breathing hard/sweat pouring down face)0 -
From what I've always understood you do not add your exercise into this equation. It's even on the sticky thread at the top titled for newbies. It's determined on a daily basis minus any exercise. I personally wouldn't put active bc you stated you sit most of the time at work.0
