Yea, it's crazy how many calories are in some things. I plan my day out the night before. That way I can make sure I stay in my calorie range and that my food is balanced.
Good luck!0 -
i can barely get in 800 a day ????0

It's indeed hard to eat around 1200 kcal a day! It's soooo easy to eat 1500-2000. You can do it though!0

If I want to eat something higher in calories and I know will bring me over, I excercise for it. Go for a little run, or even calisthenics at home, that always helps me stay in range. Happy Fitness!0

1200 is far too low and will result in too much muscle loss.
There are many many posts on these forums and others on the internet that will explain why. To sum it up, your body will try to protect it self. Burning muscle instead of fat for energy if you are not consuming enough calories to feed your basic functions.
Use one of the many calculators you can find online to determine your BMR and TDEE. Do not regularly eat below your BMR, every once in a while is ok.
As for the comment on not being able to eat even 1200 calories. There are many high calorie and healthy foods you can add to your diet that will boost your intake. Peanut Butter, Olive Oil, Avocados, full fat dairy products, to name a few.0 -
Why do you WANT to stay at 1200??0

That's what is being suggested to loose weight instantaneously0

They do add up fast ... but that's a good thing. Sometimes I think we forget that calories are the energy that our body needs to keep up alive as well as being healthy and full of energy. Unless you are very very small or have a lot of weight to lose, 1500 is probably a good amount. You have to find something that works for your body and that is sustainable for the long term.
I lost over 40 pounds eating around 1450 - 1650 net calories a day (net cals means that I eat that many calories plus the calories I burn through exercise).0
