How many days a week is good to workout?

I used to work out 6 days a week in the past however, since I am just beginning again I am thinking maybe every other day would be best suited for me. What you guys think? I would do 6 days and have off on Sundays. If I do every other day it only puts me at 4 days a week and I don't know if that would be a good thing.

I do at least 30 minutes of something 6 days a week...anything!
Right now I'm starting to try to mix it up a little more so I don't get burned out on the elliptical machine and treadmill.

I do 30-45 mins 4 days a week and then I do a shorter session of upto 30 mins 2 days a week0
