Curious to how your milk supply increases or decreases depending on the amount of calories you take in. Do you find that if you have a day or two with fewer calorie intake (like 300-500 less then your goal intake) does it effect your supply a lot?

I have had quite a few days where my calories were quite a bit under my goal intake, which I think is great b/c I really want to lose the weight, but at the same time I am wondering if it is effecting my supply a lot. Some days I have a really hard time eating my full calorie allowance since I know if i eat less i lose faster, i just cant seem to get it in my head that i might just need the rest of the calories for my milk supply....i KNOW it, but it still doesnt seem to register with me if that makes any sense. I know I am suppose to have a higher calorie intake for my milk supply, but it is hard some days.

I recently stopped breast feeding. I noticed that my milk supply was more affected by the amount of fluids that I drank, less water = less milk. However I do know that your body will convert your body into the nutrition your baby needs, kind of leeching it out of you (thus the reason so many doctors suggest taking calcium supplements while breastfeeding). So if you don't get enough of one thing because you ate to little it won't really affect the milk nutritionally unless you are starving yourself (if I understand things correctly, I am not a doctor or have any medical background so this is my opinion)
