I'm partial to a messy medium with scruff:

OR something a bit shorter and more styled like this:

  • My vote: Go with a goatee or scruffy all over light-beard. Medium length hair. Don't fear the former short cut. You've left that guy behind. BTW: Self-confidence is sexy!

I went to lunch and came back to see this thread exploding. Thank you everyone for your ideas.

    The winner, Corn rows. :)

Seriously though, I have a decision ahead of me. I may go with the Messy Medium to start out with, simply because I can make that short faster than I can make short -> medium.

As for the beard, Light stubble will be how it ends up. I don't like having nothing too often, and I only let it out for playoff hockey :). Last year when the Bruins one the beard was 4 inches long haha.

I'm thinking about going in to a shop tonight, I promise to post pictures and if it comes out bad I'll quote everyone who suggested that style :).

Also, thank you to everyone saying I look way better, big boost of confidence. I'm pretty pumped about who I'm turning out to be on the outside. And thank you to everyone complimenting my eyes, I'm not sure how you can see them (as my phone camera has been awfully blurry as of late) but I wasn't even looking for compliments like this and they are making my day.

Hope the rest of everyone's day is fantastic.

Red Dragons, to all the Ellis Fam out there.

Also, I looked up this Chris Hemsworth fella. I am not quite sure how a few of you thought I looked like him, thank you for thinking it, but I really don't see a resemblance :)

Well, that's two of us and only one of you, so majority wins! haha! Q.E.D. you resemble Chris Hemsworth. Better get working on using Thor's Hammer.

Okay, so i had no idea what to do and no idea where to go. I drove around until I saw the sign, "Family Owned and Operated Haircuts". So I went into find a lovely old Asian woman who told me I was too sexy to be wandering around by myself. Not sure what it meant, but she was quite lovable.

I told her I was looking for something short/medium and a little messy. She said she knew just the thing. This is what came out.

I still think I prefer longer hair and will most likely grow it out, but I don't think it came out tooooo bad. Anyways, thanks for all the suggestions.

    Be gentle..

    :)

totally what i'm going for. And as for OP it looks better than your original hair to be honest. It was messy but it didn't look good to me.

WOW you look so much better, honestly. Before you looked pretty messy, like you didn't care what you looked like, so who's gonna care about you, kwim?... Now, great improvement, imho. You could gel & spike it up if you want some more volume until it grows in a little bit.

See if you can grow it into an afro.

Not a bad choice, keep the scruff though! Its way to cold to go clean cut you live in Boston....and its 50 degrees in MAY!
  • I say trim hair but keep long, and trim up beard, keep it

Grow it, love it, enjoy it while you can. you have the rest of your life to explore the finer points of phrenology.

Ditto. Maybe get a 1 on the sides and leave 1/4 on top. Comb it forward with gel or give it a messy look.

    Show those eyes! :glasses:

I think people missed it, I posted the new Cut a few posts back :).

I'll grow it out again, it's not like I haven' t had it long before. In general it's about a foot long, was a little shorter recently. Now it's the shortest it's ever been. And the beard will be back, only shaved it because I had an accident with a trimmer.

Ya but the "short cut" was still a little long. I don't think it was flattering for your face. (just my opinion, not trying to offend I promise!) And now that you've lost weight, you could totally pull off a short do'!

Big improvement, very nice and uber gorgeous

    I totally missed it!

I like it! Great improvement! Now we gotta get you to SMILE!

I smile a good amount, and people tell me it's my best feature. Problem is, I can't force a smile. If it doesn't come from actual joy and laughter it looks like i'm either afraid or auditioning for a serial killer. AKA Just not natural :).

I personally love a clean cut look with a beard. Maybe even a pompadore, but long hair is awesome when it get looong, viking power yo!
