Nutrition for cycling 40+ miles

Hiya!
Am starting to go for longer bike rides and was wondering how you guys keep your energy up on long rides. By the summer I will be doing 80 mile rides but I can't keep stopping to eat lol! What are the best foods/ drinks to have whilst riding?

Bump!
(Most of my rides of 40+ miles are supported rides, so I enjoy the PB&J sandwiches, bananas, and orange slices at the rest stops. For those that aren't supported, I just get cranky and negative at about the 2 hour mark. That's gotta end or I'll lose my riding partner!)0 -
I bring along bars. Some good ones are Larabars, Kind, and Trio. I try for the least amount of ingredients. I also keep gels or shot bloks to keep my energy up. For water I use a mix of gatorade and water and have a spare bottle filled with just water. I also always carry Nuun tablets. Water alone is usually not enough to keep me hydrated.

I'm sure I look pretty comical heading out for some of my longer rides with snacks stuffed into the pockets of my cycling jerseys. I'll take along things like clif bars, trail mix, almost invariably a PB&J sandwich (that always gets a little squashed) and I can carry 3 water bottles on my bike - one will usually be G2.
One of my favourite charity events is a metric century that is incredibly well supported - it's so nice riding without having to worry about carrying fuel.0 -
I bring along a protein bar, some nuts and cut up fruit as well as a couple of bottles of water.0

Get yourself a cycling shirt/jacket (whichever fits the weather) and just stuff some nice goodies in there.
To be honest unless you are training at the top level, anything in there to keep you going and put some cals back in there will work.
I went for a 50+ miler today, and stocked up on my favourite treats. Not only does it give you a boost, it's extra motivation if you are carry goodies that you really like ;-)0 -
