Due to the salt and monosodiumglutamate the ranch packet is out for me.
Found a better version on skinnytaste.com:

    Low-fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
    Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes
    Servings: 13 • Serving Size: 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons)
    Calories: 52.3 • Fat: 2.0 g • Carbs: 5.5 g • Fiber: 0.0 g • Protein: 3.4 g • Sugar: 3.7 g
    Sodium: 288.8 mg

    Ingredients:
3/4 cup fat free sour cream
3/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt
    1/3 cup Hellman's light mayonnaise
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
    1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
    1 tsp salt
    freshly ground pepper
    1-2 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
2 cups 1% low fat buttermilk

This way you can adjust the salt to taste.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to try this!

Love ranch dressing and was searching for a healthier alternative - found this one yesterday on Clean Eating, haven't tried it yet, but was going to make it tomorrow.

    Clean Eating Ranch Dressing
    (Makes approximately 8 tbsp.)
    5 tbsp. low-fat buttermilk
3 tbsp. non-fat plain Greek yogurt
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    1/4 tsp. dried dill
    1/2 ts. dried parsley
    1/2 tsp. dried chives
    1/2 tsp. salt
    Pepper to taste

    Directions

Step 1 – Using a whisk, mix all ingredients together in a bowl until smooth and evenly blended.

Note: I doubled the recipe. I suggest doubling every ingredient except the dill. Just use one portion of dill.

    Eat and Enjoy!

Thanks for some of the suggestions! I love ranch dressing with so many things. Before I started this journey, I was eating a lot of it with everything. Now, I just use it with salads. Even then I have been using the low fat buttermilk ranch dressing. It is very good.

This sounds good too. Or, you can take these spices and add it to the greek/milk combination suggested initially an avoid MSG and tones of salt. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone on here like ranch dressing as much as I do? Before I started on here, I would put it on EVERYTHING.. And it's so bad for you!! I found an awesome recipe for some homemade ranch and it is really good and so easy to make! You only need 3 ingredients and a canning jar or some other kind of container with a lid. Just whisk the following ingredients together:

1 cup non-fat plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup 1% milk (A little less if you like a thicker consistency)
1 packet Hidden Valley ranch mix (They have different flavored ones, too!)

And BAM! You have some tasty ranch dressing for a fraction of the calories!

Note: If you don't like the tangy-ness of greek yogurt, you might not like it, because, well... it's mostly greek yogurt. I'd suggest giving it a try though!

Due to the salt and monosodiumglutamate the ranch packet is out for me.
