Ripped in 30 VS 30 Day Shred

I have been using MFP for about 4 months. I'm about 5 lbs from my goal and want to start toning. I need advice on which Jillian Michaels video will give me the results I am looking for. I am 23 and not in the best shape (run out of breathe quickly and weak) I do not want to take on something that I will frustrate me. Any suggestions?!

I've heard 30 Day Shred is easier than Ripped in 30, and 30 Day Shred is still kicking my behind. Both are going to be hard because, as Jillian says, she's cramming an hour of gym into 20 minutes at home.
  • Hi,

I think 30 day shred is the one to start with - more of an intro with three six minute circuits. I would suggest you do this one first, then people move onto the other dvd's like ripped in 30...

Hope this helps, good luck! :o)

How do I add 30 day shred on the exercise bit? I can find swimming, walking etc, but not this one? Thanks

I always log 30 day shred with 20 mins Circuit Training, as I do't own a heart monitor. You won't accurately know how many Calories you're burning without a heart monitor (I believe this is the case, I may be wrong)!

Good luck with the Shred, hope you get the results you're looking for =D :flowerforyou:

I should add, 30 Day Shred is *killing* my calves, so be prepared - it's not easy at all.

Most people add it as Circuit training (general) but if you get a heart rate monitor you'll get a more accurate count and you can add it as an exercise in your own account.

OP - definitely start with 30DS and remember that you don't have to do it in 30 consecutive days (have a rest day every week) and you don't have to move on after 10 days on each level - use the DVD how it suits you and you'll find your fitness and strength build up surprisingly quickly.

    Good luck!
