Insanity, Chalene Extreme, or Les Mills Pump?

I'm looking to try a new program and these are my top three. Anyone have a list of Pros and Cons about these workouts? I'd be looking to burn fat and tone. I've got flab issues on my upper thighs and lower tummy and around my waist. I tried P90X for about a month, but between work, kids and house stuff, the hour long videos were pushing it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

I can't speak to Les Mills Pump but I have Chalene Extreme and I love it. It focuses on strength training and alternates that 3x a week with 3 days of cardio/flex training. The cardio in it wasn't really intense enough for me so I actually sub it out with TurboFire using ChaLean's TF/CE Hybrid schedule. Her sessions range from 30-40 minutes average.
My fiance is currently doing Insanity and when I finish my hybrid I'll be doing that next. If you are in a time crunch and P90X's hour long workouts are not doable for you, then don't bother with Insanity. The workout schedule, and I may not have this perfect, is about 45-60 6x a week.0 -
I just started Les Mills PUMP and I love it! I want to tone up and it looks like this program will get me there. Its only 3X week and i run 3 miles on the days in between. good luck!0

I say go for Chalean Extreme her workouts will get you the results you want if you follow her instructions and lift heavy!!!! So make sure that you have some heavy weights on hand!! I have 3 kids of my own and I can usually get her videos done with out to much interuption from the kids!! But my kids know that when I'm exercising it better be life or death situation if they are going to interupt me. And most of the time they follow this rule except my 3 yr old who thinks needing a snack is a life or death situation!!0

Chalean Extreme, tried P90X and same issue, to long. Chalean works lower and upper body at the same time. I am on insanity/CLX hybrid and am loving it!
Good Luck!0 -
You are going to get results with all of them! I believe every woman should lift! so that being said...and I'm currently doing PUMP...I'm seeing results/definition where I've never seen
Good luck with making your decision!0 -

I just finished Insanity and loved it! It was super intense and by far the hardest home workout I have done. I got pretty good results and feel much more healthy and in shape. I would recommend it but add that you certainly have to be motivated to work VERY hard and stick with it. I am soo glad I did! I am thinking of doing one of these other workouts before starting another round of Insanity. I think Les Mills looks great but requires bar bell with weights so that one is probably out for me. Hope that helps!0

I can't speak for the Les Mills Pump home edition, but the actual group fitness class has definitely given me some results. I must warn you though, the Pump home edition starts with 20 minute work outs, but you eventually work up to them being almost an hour long. So if you don't have time to work out for an hour consecutively you may want to choose something else.0

Hey, Steph,
I am a week shy of completing ChaLean Extreme and I've been very happy with it. Her method is awesome when it comes to lifting weights. I love how she has a weight training/cardio mix in the weekly schedules. I haven't gotten around to using Insanity yet. It is definitely a great fat burner, but I think they run about 40 minutes long. CLX is normally about 30 min. with a 45 min cardio. So, really it just depends on what you want. Either Insanity (which my hubby is doing) or CLX will work. I started throwing Turbo Fire in with my CLX on the cardio days. I just love how intense those workouts are in TF. Hope this helps.0
