I was watching Dr. Oz today and he said that the trick to loose butt/thigh fat is to eat a high carb diet??? I kind of want to try but what do you guys think?

  • Spot reducing doesn't really exist. Simply lose enough fat and you will, by default, lose butt/thigh fat. Eating more of one macronutrient than another is not going to suddenly start making you magically lose fat in a specific part of your body.

Edit: That being said, you could eat almost all carbs, and provided you were still under maintenance for the day, lose weight. This wouldn't be the healthiest route though. At all. Protein and fat are necessary.

Stop watching Dr. Oz. The guy is a quackadoodle deluxe of the first order.

Eat a calorie deficit, work hard, move a lot and let the pounds come off. No crazy diet, supplement, or diet pill required.

    Agreed.
If dr. Mengele says lie down on this table and enjoy some chocolates, would you do it? He's a physician.

ive done low carb before and now im trying the higher carb route for this cut.. i can tell you from what ive seen so far that the higher carbohydrate route is working better. thing is as you reduce calories they have to be from carbs assuming that you reach minimum protein and fat requirements each day... you can keep cutting carbs but u cant keep cutting fats or protein to retain muscle mass.

I think Dr. Oz spews contradictory information to make a quick buck and I would kick him in the chest if I had the chance.

It wasn't Dr. Oz that said that it was his guest.

It doesn't matter though, I wouldn't follow whoever's advice that was.
