I was just on Amazon looking at heart rate monitors & I found this basic Timex HRM marked down from $99.95 to $12.99!

It looks like a pretty nice HRM - all I really want it to do is monitor my heart rate & count calories burned. I've been wanting a Polar, but I don't want to spend $100. The low price makes me a little skeptical, but I found the same HRM listed on altrec.com for $99.95, which is the price it's marked down from on Amazon. The reviews are pretty good, so I'm gonna spend the $12.99 & if I hate it, I won't be too upset - especially since I had a gift card that covered the cost of the HRM + shipping! :)

Anyway, just wanted to share!

    I don't know if they're the same model, but I have a timex and it's fine for what I want it for. My only complaint is that there is no way to adjust for male/female, so it assumes I'm male. I just take the end average heart rate and put it into a website that gives me a more accurate calorie burn.

    For $12.99 why not try it?
