    I mean really is it that bad.....that you cant show a real pic of yourself...You have to hide behind a celebrity or something you found on the internet...

    You have to realize, some people aren't comfortable with themselves yet. It took me a little while to finally be comfortable with pictures of myself, and having other people see them. For the longest time, I was the ugly, fat girl, so it was hard for me to get up the courage to start taking pictures. Now I can't stop...it's an obsession lol

    Nope, probably not. I have a face book for people that I know in real life but its private to everyone else. It's more like this reason
    Maybe people are using MFP for fitness and health reasons, but prefer to maintain a specific level of anonymous on the internet?

    Because it says to upload a picture from your computer, not upload a picture OF YOURSELF from your computer...

    I suppose with the way privacy is invaded and practically about to die like facts did (see - http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-talk-huppke-obit-facts-20120419,0,809470.story), I'm not surprised.

    Plus, being a weight-loss/heath-related forum, I'm sure there's tons of body conscious people on here just coming to terms with their self-image.

    I haaaate pictures. They steal my soul, but I'm coming to terms with that. (Actual -ick- me in icon.)

    But I'm not going to knock anyone for keeping it un-real. :)

    I have a real picture of myself on my profile, but I prefer this one. Why? Because it makes me laugh and gets my day started the way I need it to. It keeps my spirits up and helps motivate me that way.

    I did until someone sent me an email wanting to be my adopted child from Africa. So for me anonymity is the way to go! I seem to attract all the freaks and weirdos!
