Hi everyone, set this account up a while ago but never done anything with it.
This time im more determined and aim to fill this out on a daily basis.
My main goal right now is weight loss and then I would like to focus on toning.
If anyone has any hints/tips to help aid this it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Welcome!
(I don't "friend" people until I know them at least a bit. If you say some more about yourself -- nothing you're uncomfortable about saying -- then people with similar goals or situations may be more likely to send a friend request?)
For me, tracking is one of the things that I was resisting, but which is helping me tremendously. I track what I eat and exercise. Keep in mind that muscle burns more calories than fat, so your toning goal can support your weight loss goal.
Best wished on your goals!0 -
Hey Thanks for replying
I agree, I think using something like this to track what im eating/drinking/exercising on a daily basis is helping me be more aware and I hope it will help me with my goals0 -
track everything! it's the best feature on here. read a lot of posts. they offer great advice, but find what works for you. you have to experiment a little to find what you can eat, and how much and still lose weight, so don't get discouraged early. drink water. way more than you want to to weigh less than you want to.
good luck!0 -
One tip I can offer is make sure you commit to logging EVERYTHING. Download the app for your phone, get in your iPad or Kindle if you have one of those, and log in daily on the computer. Plan and log your meals in advance if you know you are going to have a busy day. If you wait until the end of the day, it's too easy to go way over your daily intake and not realize. But if you log in advance, you might find you have enough extra calories left over to enjoy a beer that day (or whatever else floats your boat). Also, if you commit to logging constantly throughout the day you won't forget to log anything.
A second tip I will offer is why wait to focus on toning? Start now!!! Incorporate weight lifting into your routine 2-3 times a week. It will help the weight come off faster, and that way when the weight does come off, you will have muscles underneath to show through Also, bigger muscles=faster metabolism=you can eat more. Basically the stronger you are and the more muscle you have, the more efficient your body is at processing calories.
Finally, don't look at your scale for at least the first month. It's really hard to get the scale to move at first which can be discouraging and cause you to give up too soon. Log your foods, workout, and weigh yourself after a month. If you stick with it, you will get results!0 -
Hi, I've been tracking for a week and a half. I started at 227# and am now 221#. I'm on a 1800 cal. reducing diet. I track several times a day and will often put in an upcoming meal - especially in a restaurant - to see if it's too many calories. I drink 3 protein shakes from powder, one every 8 hours. The only issue I have is exercise. I haven't done much for several years. I'm hoping to start a stretching regimen as a starting point. That's me. Hope to hear back with advice.0

Weight lifting has helped me a lot! As pointed out by a couple others is it's true muscle helps you to burn more fat. I would say that defiantly track everything in the beginning to you can get use to portion sizes. With that being said it is not all about counting calories and has a lot to do with what you are actually eating. The biggest thing I could recommend is to eat clean...meaning staying away from processed food. Our bodies just don't know what to do with it and as a result you don't have a body that functions properly. Plus the added bonus is you will fill a lot better
I hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you have any questions.0
