My continuing weight loss journey

I was in high school and severely obese.

I graduated from high school, severely obese.

Halfway through my 3rd semester in community college, I decided to change. Over the course of ~2 years I had lost roughly 140lb. I lost most of my weight with Weight Watchers.

I began to run.
I did 5Ks.

I worked up to a 15K.

Then things began to go downhill. I became depressed. I binged…hard. I gained a lot of weight back. About 80 pounds. I was filled with self-loathing. I hated myself. I graduated with my Bachelor's, and was once again obese and disgusted with how far backwards I slid.

But now I am learning to let go of the past. I can’t change it, so I’m not going to wallow in it. I measure my bf% now. I want to know what’s really changing. It’s a slow process, but it’s happening. I’ve found a bit of a passion in strength training.
So, now I lift things up.

And put them down.

I’m starting to run again. But I probably will be sticking to shorter distances for now.
The point of this simple sentence story? Your determination is not tested when this journey is easy. It’s tested when it’s difficult. When everything in your life is just telling you to give the **** up. But you do it anyways despite that.

You are amazing!
It's success even when it's easy, but it's impressive when you keep at it even when it's difficult.
We all have some set-backs. But the truly great, keep trying. And you are impressively great!

It takes awhile to put on and awhile to take off. When you are involved in a good community such as this, it tends to make you feel accountable and become invested in other people's life as well. We are all on this journey, we just have different deadly demons to deal with. One step at a time, one day at a time.0
