    Charlene Soraia's version of Where You Will Go - My 23 month old niece suffers from Diamond Blackfan Anaemia so needs blood transfusions ever 4-5 weeks. To raise awareness and raise money for DBA UK my family held a charity night and played a video of my niece with this song in the background. I cried my eyes out! Also my grandad died just before christmas from cancer (only 7 weeks after losing my nana to cancer too) and this song was used at his funeral. I can't listen to it now, too sad.

    Also, Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton.

    And Mad World by Gary Jules.

    For some reason, sad songs make me feel less alone in this world.

    Also, this one;

    and

    I love this woman. So much of this song relates to me.

    "Trapped in misery, wrapped so miserably, in this deception I'm wearing like a skin. Dying to maintain, oh, I keep trying to explain, a heart that never loved me to begin. Oh, I'm such a mess, I have no choice but to confess, that I've been desperately trying to belong. Lying to myself, and everybody else, refusing to admit my right was wrong"

    "Please save me from me from myself, I need you to save me from myself. Please save me from myself so I can heal"
    <--- that especially speaks to me. I can hear the soul in it, and it's beautiful yet sad.

    Big Star: Holocaust

    "You're a sad eyed lie, you're a wasted face, you're a holocaust"

    In fact, Big Star 3rd. Most depressing uplifting album EVER. :)

    I also get a lump in the throat with Paul McCartney's Here Today, his tribute to John Lennon.

    Lonely- The Mountain Goats
    How about No Children? That sends chills down my spine just thinking about it.

    There are lots and lots, but lately the ones in particular gettin' me down have been:

    Motorcycle Emptiness and If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next by the Manic Street Preachers.

    But they're great songs.
