"Stranger" NSV

There is a park near my house and I have been walking pretty much daily since the 2nd week of April. There is always this one girl there getting her walk on too and we wave and smile when we pass eachother. A few weeks ago someone tried breaking into her car and we ended up talking a little bit.

We have quick chats here and there and today she stopped me and was telling me that she could see a huge difference in my body and that I was doing a great job. I almost cried.

My boyfriend encourages me a lot but for someone reason when a stranger reaches out to you - it just carries a different meaning to it somehow.

Proud day for me. :)

That's great! You're right. It's different appreciation when a stranger compliments you on your weight loss. I feel like family and friends have to say those types of things. But none the less, great job!

Awesome! :) If you frequently run into her while walking, you should ask her if she would be interested in being a workout buddy. Who knows - you might gain a new friend out of it.

I'm actually charging up my old phone so I can send her a text now (we exchanged numbers when that car drama went down). I just moved 1200 miles away from "home" and the only person I know is my BF so I could definitely use a girlfriend.

I think we all get so wrapped up in our stuff most of the time that we put blinders on to everything / everyone else.

It's amazing what a simple word or gesture from a stranger can do. My goal for the day is pay it forward. :)

Strangers can really be nice when they want to be!

I was at the park a few Sundays ago doing my usual run/walk intervals (which I'm sure is a jiggly sight!!!) and there were two little old guys playing tennis. After I had been out there for about an hour, I walked past the tennis courts, which are on the trail I run/walk, and one of them says, "You're still going? Good for you! You keep it up little lady and keep doing good stuff for yourself" I related that I do this every Sunday for two hours and he said "Oh goodness! That makes me tired just hearing about it, but you're still doin good" I told him how much weight I've lost and he looked like a proud papa :)

It was nice... so many people in my life are unsupportive or are wanting me to stop where I am right now.. I'm only halfway to my GW and want to keep going. The motivation of strangers is a wonderful thing!
