My favorite saying that I've heard is, "You can eat 1,000 calories in a matter of minutes, but it will take hours to burn off 1,000 calories". I think of that every time I want to eat a spoonful of frosting :)

mmm.. damn now i want frosting.

"Strong is the new skinny" is my favorite "saying"

what I say to myself as I get my *kitten* kicked every night during my work out - "I'm doing this for ME"

    ^^^^^^These ^^^^^^^^^
except my second one comes from EA Sports Active 2 "it's all for me"

an MFP friend once posted, "weight loss is not a race". so i remind myself of that every week i don't shed as many pounds as i had hoped. after all, slow and steady wins the race!

"No pain, no gain." I also just like to think about the number on the "calories burned" display after a hard workout and think of that whenever I want to eat something. Thinking about the math helps me to quit rationalizing binges.

My least favorite is probably "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," probably because I've seen it on too many thinspiration pictures all over the internet. I don't want to be skinny, I want to be fit.

I know someone already said it but the "You are not a dog, do not reward yourself with food"... really sticks with me. I was always rewarding myself with food for happy things, depressing things...holidays...

    It's food not diamonds! lol

I don't know why that one stuck with me but I'm glad it did. I dont want to reward my little one food. I want her to see it only as fuel and a tasty treat on occasion.

Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork.

One should eat to live, not live to eat.

    Bigger snacks mean bigger slacks.

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake. (ok now that's the old me talking )
