I have been doing this for 11 days now..love love love this program! I tend to easily get discouraged though. I have lost 10 lbs I feel like I am losing but I walk by a mirror and want to cry! Why can't it be as easy to take it off as it is to put it on. I know I need to start exercising I just have such a mental block when it comes to exercise that I can't do it. I can't get anyone in my close circle to understand me, they say I just need to get over it and do it, don't complain about it, change it. I swear if it were that easy for me I would be body beautiful. Just want to feel pretty again

Try to stop looking at it as exercise. It's really "me" time where you happen to be walking or riding your bike or dancing or whatever. It's the time you take to work on you, on making you look and feel the way you want to look and feel. You deserve to be whatever you want to be. (although exercise for me is much easier when it is something I like0

Wait, you've lost 10 pounds in 11 days? You won't find much sympathy from me. It has taken me 4 months to lose 20 pounds.
You're doing fine. You can't expect to lose 50 pounds in one day. It is going to take time because it took time to put it on. But imagine living the rest of your life as you are today. That should be motivation enough to get to where you want to be.
You don't have to exercise. Maybe just start walking. You'll learn to love it. Watching your calorie intake is how you lose weight, not by exercising.0 -
I can understand the anxiety related to starting exercising but once you get started, the great feeling after a work out will over take the fear before it.
Even if you start small, it's amazing how many calories you can burn just going walking a few times a week.
You're doing so well so far though, the scariest bit is getting started but you can do it!!0 -
I have lost 11 pounds so far. I weigh every 2 weeks because I get mad at myself, the scale, and the world otherwise. I hate to look in the mirror still and I probably will for a very long time. Ignore the mirror. Ignore the scale. Look at what people call Non-Scale Victories. For me, it's the jeans that were almost too tight now fasten without me holding my breath. It's my wedding band spinning around on my finger instead of cutting into my flesh. It's the fact that I look at my properly portioned food and go, "Wow, can I eat all of that?" It's the feeling of fullness after a reasonable size meal. You can do this.0

Try not to get discouraged. I say 10 pounds in 11 days is phenomenal! It didn't come on over night and it won't come off that fast either. Only 1-2 pounds a week is what is considered a healthy weight loss. Make sure when you are done logging food for the day that your not in starvation mode and get plenty of fluid to drink. Do allow yourself a "cheat" every now and again just make sure you count it in to your calorie intake for the day. If you don't cut yourself a little slack once in awhile you won't stick to this for the long term. Try and do something that you don't consider "exercise", Take a leisurely walk, or go outside and tend garden. Just get up and move around, dance in the living room while you clean house, whatever it takes. And you just work up from there! You can do it, stay strong and motivated!0

I used to HATE exercise. It was torture for me. Then I just started sucking it up and doing it anyway. One horrible session at a time. HATING every singe second of it. Strangely though the more I did it the better it got. Now I feel HORRIBLE when i dont do it. Its become my sanity and my kids salvation. when i dont work out i have way less patience for them. I still dont like it but now my body does, and I like to give my body what it wants lol0

I got out of the exercise routine for 3 years after having my son. I am a stay at home mom and my world revolves around my child. Now, I'm selfishly indulging in an hour of exercise everyday. It's the one thing that I insist upon for myself. And I'm pretty sure that the new routine is contributing not just to my physical health, but my mental well-being. So, start small and let it grow on you... you'll be happy you did.
I also bought a FITBIT a couple of months ago... any pedometer will do. This alone will raise your awareness of how sedentary you might be.0 -
But you are beautiful. To lose 10pds in 11 days is amazing! If I'm lucky I can lose 10pds in 1month. You did it in 11days. Congrats! As for exercising, to start is the hardest but once you do it you'll fell better, trust me. Be positive about it. You have to stop thinking of excercise as something you "have" to do. Make it something as you "want" to do. For yourself. "You" time.
Don't ever quit. Good luck!0 -
everyone has their depressed moments of " I can't do this, This is taking too long, I overate a day or two now I may as well keep going, I ruined everything I did thus far" etc.... as people have said you didn't gain it all in two weeks you are NOT going to lose it in two weeks.
for exercise make small doable goals i.e.
walk up and down the stairs for two minutes
walk down your street and listen to the birds for 15 mins
garden for half an hour
go for a swim
take my pet for a walk
etc...
just look at the exercise database there are so many everyday daily things that you do already that burn calories. every one counts. pretty soon you will enjoy it and try to get some exercise in numerous times throughout the day. exercise does not just mean going to the gym, doing workout videos or classes. find something that you enjoy0 -
I understand having a mental block when it comes to exercise. I have one too and I have a big one when it comes to food.I ALWAYS forget that I am supposed to be eating better when it comes to my favorite foods!
But exercise is important. For myself personally, I had to keep trying different things.
I tried P90X, but I gave up when it was too hard with no one there to workout with me.
I tried Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It was fun at first, but I hated doing the same thing everyday, by myself. It got boring, so I stopped.
I joined a gym, but I felt to insecure to go play in the weight section and I got bored running on treadmills and elliptical by myself.
Then I joined a self defense class (krav maga) and I am going 3 times a week and I LOVE it! it burns serious calories, I'm learning a skill, it distracts me from the "working out" mind set, I'm making new friends, etc.
I also started walking/jogging on non-class days with a friend. She weighs a lot more than me and really feels defeated. So I am walking with her on those days not for myself but for her. But I am benefiting too!
SO! The moral of the story is to try a bunch of different things! Eventually you will have to find SOMETHING you can at least tolerate. One of the important things about working out is you have to get out of the habit of being lazy! It definitely is difficult. Start out small (like other people said, something small like walking the dog and walking a bit further than normal), look for people to do it with you. Set goals small goals. Like to walk a mile or walk that mile faster next time, etc. Just keep yourself moving and never give up. Keep trying new things.0
