    I like
    1 scoop vanilla protien powder
    1 banana
    1 cup skim milk
    cinnamin
    some crushed ice

Banana and cinnamon sound fantastic together! I'll have to try that one too.

Any smoothie with a banana in it is ten times better if the banana is FROZEN! It makes the smoothie so creamy it's almost like ice cream. Also, a little unsweetened shredded coconut is delicious on top!

I replace breakfast with a smoothie....

    1 frozen banana (100 cal)
1/2 cup greek yogurt (65 cal)
6 small frozen strawberries (50 cal)
1 tbs unsweetened coco powder (10 cal)
    1 cup 1% milk (100 cal)

Freeze your fruits and you dont have to add very much, if any, ice.

    1/2 cup Greek yogurt
    Blueberries
    Strawberries
Milk or juice - I like to use cranberry juice

You can also add bananas or any fruit you have handy. Keeps me full and I get a serving of fruits!

I got a question. I am new to smoothie making. I made one this morning with a small banana, sugar free cherry jello cup & half & half. It was so good. But way too sweet. Any ideals on how to cut the sweetness. I always seem to make em to sweet. I have some strawberry protein whey but don't use it a whole lot because it's too sweet. I would love to use it if I can figure out how to cut the sweetness.

Bananas are pretty sweet. Use a bit less, and cut it with ice cubes or use milk.

    My standard smoothie...

    3/4c-1c 1% milk
    1/4c plain greek yogurt
    1c fz strawberry, defrosted
    1/4c fz blueberry
1/4c fz cherry (or pineapple, or mango, or blackberry, etc)
    1c baby spinach
a few squeezes of lime juice (this balances out the spinach)
1 serving (25g protein) vanilla protein powder
    4-6 cubes ice

This is enormous and will fill you up.

Great Value - Frozen Mixed Fruit Sliced Strawberry, Peach, Mango and Pineapple, 2 cup (no sugar added)

Minute Maid Premium Pulp Free - 100% Pure Squeezed Orange Juice, 8 ounces

Great Value Clover Honey - Clover Honey, 1 tbsp

    310 cals (total)

*Taking the fruit directly from the freezer, I thaw in the microwave for 90 seconds before throwing in the blender

Also, to save calories, you can replace/reduce the OJ with water. OJ just gives it a better flavor. Can also add banana if you like. Make as big or small as you want! I just recommend maintaining the 2:1 ratio on Fruit:OJ (or other liquid)

Great for pre or post workout

Everyone's recipes sound yummy! Just a tip: include Matcha tea in your smoothies. It is a higher grade of tea and contains more antioxidants and catechins (disease-fighting components) than standard green tea. Also, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition discovered there is a compound (aside from the caffeine) in Matcha that burns fat

    Here's a recipe I use. It makes 2 smoothies.

4 oz Yoplait strawberry greek yogurt
    1 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 cup frozen blackberries
    1/2 cup strawberries
1 scoop Optimum Gold Standard why protein, Vanilla Ice Cream flavor
    1/2 cup 100% orange juice
    1/2 cup water
2 tsp Matcha Green tea powder (or you can buy the leaves and grind them)

There are so many great ideas, but a quick question...what is a good substitute for bananas? or do the smoothies work the same with out them? (I have a sensitivity to bananas and can't eat them.)

Can't wait to try this tomorrow for breakfast. I bought the Fage 0% and it is officially my favorite greek yogurt. It's not as tart as the other brands. :-)
