My favorite saying that I've heard is, "You can eat 1,000 calories in a matter of minutes, but it will take hours to burn off 1,000 calories". I think of that every time I want to eat a spoonful of frosting :)

    Mmmmm. Rainbow frosting. YUM.

When I had my first session back in the gym after a 6 year break, the body was fine till about 3 hours into my shift at work when the aches started.

My cousin replied to my post on Facebook with "Pain is the weakness leaving the body and the sweat is the fat crying".

Now when I go to the gym I make sure that far cries buckets and if the workout hasn't done enough the fat gets 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna. :-)

Some of my favorite quotes in general for living life are:

"If you don't allow a feeling to begin because you numb yourself out, (ie with food) then you also don't allow it to end."

"Trouble is inevitable, but misery is optional."

"Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies" ~Nelson Mandela

I love all of these but most especially the first one!

I think someone already posted this one:
"Your body keeps an accurate journal regardless of what you write down."
    Love it!

    And my new favorite:
"I would rather be sore tomorrow than sorry tomorrow."

By the way - this is a great thread!

When I need motivation at the gym I sometimes hear Jillian Micheals voice saying "You are strong - this is easy for you" like she says it when you most need it in level 1 of the 30 day shred.

And the other one comes from a Les Mills poster, on the wall in my gym: "Great bodies aren't born - they're forged"

    Less chat, less fat, mutherf***er.

It was written on the wall of my gym in chalk when I first walked in... I knew I was at the right place. :)

No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping the people on the couch!

This is the wallpaper on my phone....It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to notice, and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. Give it 12 weeks. Don't quit!

Those two are my favorites too. I literally have to tell myself I'm lapping the people on the couch to get myself out the door and walk/jog. (Once I'm out there I'm fine; it's just the leaving the house that's so hard.)

When I am in spin class and it gets tough (while standing) I say over and over in my head "Keep going, you are doing this for your butt!!!!). Works every time!

Saw this once and I love it. Nothing feels as good as proving people wrong (in a self-absorbed way, it's for good health!).

"Actually, I CAN". I saw this too myself often when I want to run out another mile that I typically can't do!

    Kinda long, but effective.

"Exercise to be fit not skinny, eat to nourish your body, and always ignore the haters, doubters, and other unhealthy examples that were once feeding you. You are worth more than you realize."

    And also,

"You are one tough b***h-- now go prove it."
