I'm considering joing a Ragnar team for a race in late September. I recently ran a 5k where my only goal was to run the whole thing, and I finished in 34:00. Anyone have experience training for this sort of race? Any tips to share? Thanks!

I have ran it 3x
It really depends on what kind of team you are on..are they trying to be competitive or is it just for fun?
On the low end, make sure you can recover and run again within 8 hrs. Try running at different times of the day as this will be the case for your race. It can get a little tricky when trying to get fuel in. If you can do 2 a days, that would be the best option.
other tidbits
1) bring ear plugs and a towel
2) wear sunscreen
3) drink a recovery drink
4) compression socks!
5) gallon zip lock bags for your stinky clothes0 -
I just finished Ragnar Cape Cod yesterday. Pick your team wisely. Several hours in a van full of stinky, tired people brings out everyone's true colors. My van rocked and did great together, van 2 wasn't so lucky. The above tips are all great. I assume you're considering Adirondacks so I'd start training on hills. As a matter of fact we're trying to gather up a team too, maybe I'll see you there0
