overall crappy/run down feeling

Hello all! I was just hoping to get some ideas about what may be missing from my diet...or maybe I need to just go to the doctor???
So I finished finals on Friday and was pretty run down and tired after that. I am on my last week of Insanity so that may contribute a little bit but I just don't feel quite right. I feel kind of run down and tired, low on energy, headachy, just kind of yucky. I have been messing with my diet some to just become more clean... but I try to eat when I am hungry, I don't feel like I am not eating when I should. Any ideas??? I don't feel sick per se, just blah.
Thanks folks!

You just described me when I'm catching a cold.
Drink some tea. Get some sleep.0 -
Your protein is way too low. If you're going to be burning that many calories you have to feed yourself the protein you need to repair and recuperate.0

Get a good nights sleep. I always feel like once every two months or so, I need a good 12 hours of sleep in a row..0

More sleep maybe? After finals that sounds like what I would need. :yawn:0

Are you taking a multivitamin? I was feeling very run down and exhausted, I went to my doctor and it turns out I have very low iron. You might be low on some sort of vitamin or mineral, which could cause you to feel that way especially if you have changed your eating. But if you aren't sure, go see the doctor and have some blood work done.0

I felt like that for a while last year. It could be quite a few different things, for me, it was a B12 deficiency.
I'd say, if you continue to feel this crappy, see your doctor.0 -
If this feeling keeps up, I would reccomend seeing your doctor and perhaps have some blood work done. I just had some done two weeks ago as I was feeling sluggish, drained etc...Come to find out I am lacking zinc even though I take a multivitamin! I now am taking zinc tablets. I'm not saying that is what is wrong with you, just my own experience. Good Luck0

You possibly need more protein for all that working out you're doing0

I agree with all of the above! You probably need to catch up on your sleep and possibly need to up your protein. I'm just finishing Insanity and I felt that way in the beginning and added a couple protein shakes to my diet through the week and that seemed to help with the energy. Good luck:)0

Could be any number of reasons or a combination of a bunch of little problems.
1. How much are you eating? Your body won't recover properly if you are not eating enough. Its one thing to do cardio to loose weight and a little different doing a program that is always wanting you to push harder and harder. It can really put a strain on your body.
2. Are you getting a good nights sleep?
3. Are you pushing too hard. If you are not ready for the program and maybe over training your body might be saying STOP. I have pushed too hard when training for a marathon and you eventually reach a point when your performance just starts declining.
4. Are you hydrating properly?
5. Try a snack after the workout. I normally eat a small snack (yogurt) after running, the carbs and protein always seem to help me recover a little faster then when I don't have the snack.0 -

Do you get enough sleep? Despite all the people telling you they thrive on four or five hours, most all adults need 7 ~ 8 hours/night to be healthy.

Great ideas- thank you! Perhaps some more info...I do take multi vitamins daily and an additional B and D (every other day). I have slept a lot over the last few days- pry about 10 hrs per night until last night- I had something to do this am. I am working out hard but I don't think it is terribly different from usual. I do try to eat protein but sometimes certainly do fall behind on it...0
