    I just do it.

I am a stay at home mom w/3 kids and I take 3 college internet classes. My husband works out of town M-F, so most of the week it's just me and the kids. If I didn't get my butt up at 5 am to work out then I never would. It's pretty much my only time alone except for when the kids go to bed at night and the last thing I want to do at 10 pm is work out. And up until 2 days ago I had homework that I did at night, so 5 am just worked out better for me.

Sure, it stinks getting up that early and I HATE when the alarm goes off, but once I'm done with the workout I feel AWESOME! It definitely sets the tone for my whole day in a positive way.

I wake up @15 minutes before I need to get going and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee. I have my coffeemaker set on a timer That way, when the alarm goes off, I can smell the coffee and I think, "oh I'll just get up and have some coffee and then decide about working out"...but once you're awake and caffeinated at 5am, what else are you gonna do?

Okay, I did it today. Up at 5, had a short and not that great work out, but happy that I did it all.

    Tomorrow is the new challenge!

I try to every morning, I'll get it 2-3 days per week usually, which is good for me to start. What helped me was something I had read that told me when you exercise first thing in the morning before eating a big breakfast you are burning fat that is already stored in your body instead of burning the fat you've eaten so far that day. It's a little mind trick that works for me. Another motivating factor is that when I get up and go in the morning I don't each as much or snack as much during the day. I think its because I don't want to undo everything I did in the morning.
I agree with everyone's strategies of going to bed earlier (the nights I do are the mornings I wake up). Its all about creating a new routine and after a few weeks of getting it done your body will get used to it and just wake up on its own (even on the weekends which is annoying)
    Good luck to you!

I do get up at 5 am to work out. The first few days it is hard as heck but if you just force yourself to it does get easier with time. At first I start to feel tired by the middle of the week and have one day I may go to be at 8 pm but it is always worth it. I feel more alert and have more energy thru the day and I enjoy the extra "me" or family time it gives me in the evenings. After a couple of weeks your body starts getting used to is as does your mind, you will not be as "tired" in the evening and you will feel sluggish if you skip a morning. I always say it is easier to get my work out in while I am still sleeping then my body doesn't realize it is working as hard. By mid work out I am starting to wake up and only have 20 minutes to go! It's wonderful!!
