Hi, I was doing 30ds and getting on well but the jumping jacks have given me a very sore calf - it still hurts after 7 days off but I want to get back to doing the other exercies, what would you do - I was going to replace the jumping jacks with more of the static punches but don't know if that will work - she obviously puts the workout together the way she does for a reason. Has anyone else adapted the workout and still lost inches and would you do what I am going to do or another exercise in place of the jumping jacks?

When I do 30DS I don't do the jumping jacks. I do right and left side lunges instead. (However I continue to complete the range of motion with my arms simultaneously.) Hope this helps.

Instead of the jumping out & back with the jumping jacks, move your arms with the motion like you are doing the jumping jacks, but kick one leg out to the side at a time, bringing it back to the original position & then kicking out the other. Sure, your not burning the same amount of calories that you would be if you were doing the full jumping jack, but the most important thing is that YOU ARE STILL MOVING...so a few calories burned is better than no calories

Interesting idea, I never would've thought of that one

I struggle with jumping jack because of baby bladder :blushing: so I will do any other cardio movement , there are side winders where you jump and push one leg out behind alternatively to a 4 beat . These are pretty close calorie wise and the higher you jump the better x

I listen to music when I do my 30DS, and since I hurt my foot recently, rather than doing jumping.. well any jumping move, I've just been dancing around like an idiot to keep my heart rate up

I don't know what level you're on but what I've done is combined exercises from the different levels. For me it is exercises that are rough on the knees that I've replaced. So for example instead of jumping jacks you could do plank jacks from the level 2 work out.
