I've heard alot of people loss excess weight , using crystal light to replace there soda and juice needs. My question is: i know to much of any sugar (natural or artifical) can make you not lose weight or slow it down.
Will Crystal light hold me back from losing weight or help? I drink 6 bottles of water a day / each bottle with 1/2 a pack of Crystal light. Any one who has been using crystal light with water please let me know. thanks.

I've been using Crystal Light singles at least once daily for the past few months. I'm still down 18lbs since March 1st, and 30+lbs since Xmas, so I don't think it's been slowing me down!0

I drink Crystal Light on a daily basis and it hasn't affected my weight loss one bit. That said, I do make sure at least 40-48 ounces of what I drink is plain water.0

I use crystal light just about every day. I don't use it in a 16 oz bottle, I use it in a 21oz, 24oz, even a 32 oz bottle!0

I use at least 4 of the CL to-go packs a day. I've lost almost 90 lbs in less than 7 months. So no, I don't think it affects weight loss at all. If it does hate to know what I could have lost without it. :-)0

I drink a 2quart pitcher per day, that's 64 ounces
I told my nutrionist I do this and she supported it
I've lost 76 lbs..I think you'll do fine!0 -
i drink them in probably 60 % of the bottles of water i drink in a day . some times i just want plain water tho.0

There are no calories in crystal light so it's really highly debate-able if it affects weight loss either way.
It's the same debate as diet coke, some people think it increases your cravings for sweets. Again, controversial.
Personally I drink Crystal Light and Diet Coke all the time, it has no impact whatsoever on my weight loss efforts (I've both gained and lost weight on it). Just watch your calories and also make sure to also drink plain water as well.
One tip though: I make my crystal light SUPER diluted. Like the amount it says to put in a 12 ounce bottle I put into a gallon pitcher. I just like it better that way. It doesn't need to be super sweet, just like to have a little more flavor than water.
Hope this helps0 -
I drink :drinker: and drink :drinker: and drink :drinker: the heck out of Crystal light with no stop to my weight loss because of it...0

I drink it all the time. I take the raspberry grean tea and I add Bigelow green tea that I heated in my pan. I use 8 tea bags, boil, then mix with my crystal lite. I love it because I was hooked on soda and I haven't had but maybe 2 glasses of soda in a year.0

I drink it all the time. I also bake my own goodies using fake sugar. And eat them everyday. I'm doin just fine lol0

I don't think Crystal Light would harm your weight loss noticeably. I think plain water is a little healthier, since you avoid the added junk. *BUT* if using CL is the only way you'll drink more water, therefore avoiding [heavily] consuming drinks that are worse, then it's a fair trade in my opinion.0

Calories are calories when it comes to liquid nutritional values. Switch to diet, and you can have similar results. Switch to just plain water and you'll have better. 1) you wont have "empty calories"; 2) the carbonation in soda does cause minor bloating in your stomach.0

at the most basic level, the only think that makes you lose weight is a cut-back of calories. the only thing that makes you gain weight is an excess of calories.
so, too much regular sugar can cause a weight gain/stall, but only because of the calories in the sugar -- not the sugar itself. in moderate amounts, it is just fine. as far as artificial sugar, there are next to no calories there -- something around 4 cals per tsp, I think. and same rule applies.
I use drink mixes all the time. also drink diet soda.0 -
I don't think it will slow your weight loss down but I do know that its not good for your bladder. I have a very close friend that had a very serious problem where she had to pee all the time, it came on over the course of a year and was running to the washroom every 15 - 30 minutes. She thought it was because she had children and it was yet another thing that changed about her body.... Well she ended up going to a specialist and when they asked her how much artificial sweetners she consumed in a week she suddenly realized it was a lot... Crystal light, her coffee, sprinkling it on cereals and fruit, all in an attempt to lose weight. After excessive testing that showed nothing they told her they wanted her to cut out the sweetners. She did and she's been fine ever since!!!! They told her that it weakens the lining of your bladder over time and in the long run can cause some very serious problems!!! If its the only thing your drinking with artificial sweetner then go for it but if your adding it other foods then I would use sparingly!!0

If it wasn't for crystal light I would be dyhdrated. So in my case the benefit outweighs in the risk.
Drinking 100-200 empty calories x 2-5 times a day isn't healthy either.0
