Is this referring to 40% protein and 30% of carbs and fat? Or am I getting it mixed up?

No, you aren't getting it mixed up. That's the common ratios people talk about for 40/30/30, but some others may switch it up I guess. Those are roughly my ratios but if I can go lower on carbs that's usually better for me.0
