I have a kia rio, ive had it 18 months, bought second hand and is 52 reg, i think, but may be wrong, thats 10 years old. It had never failed an MOT when i got it, it passed again the first time I put it through and the second time, I needed a new tyre, windscreen wipers, a couple of other little things that i cant rememer now. Kias are now sold with a 7 year parts and labour guarantee, so the one you are looking at will still be under that guarantee. My car has never let me down, and when its time to buy a new one, it will definitely be another kia

We really like Buchanan Kia in Westminster, but that may be out of the way for you - we bought both our Kias from there.

I'm sorry, I could never bring myself to purchase a car who's company name stands for Killed In Action....

    :noway:

I am sorry....I have never heard of this before? How did you find this out?

 it's a military acronym that's been around for years MIA = missing in action, KIA = killed in action

You lie! You know you just made it up.

When I was car shopping recently, all the reviews for the new Optimas were really good. It's a very highly rated, affordable family car. Plus they look really nice! I saw a brand new one on my way to work today and I really liked the aesthetic.

I recently bought a new Mazda 3, though, less expensive and very highly rated as well, just fit into my budget better.

Yes I am trying to get the "most bang for my buck" as I am sure everyone who is car shopping is. I have time to make a purchase so I will keep looking around. I will check into the Mazada's also. I don't know much about cars....lol.
  • I have had my kia mini van for about 3 years and love it. Great in snow, comfortable ride. We had one clitch with a sensor, they came and picked up the car and fixed it. Great warranty. I would def. go Kia again.

I don't own a Kia, but did look very seriously at them recently when I was looking for a car. They USED to be known as crappy cars. More recently, however, they have shot way up in consumer satisfaction and reliability. I know because I researched the hell out of them. Consumer Reports seems to love them.

Also ditto on Honda being recently downgraded. My 2006 Civic was crapola compared to my 2002 Civic.

The research indicates to me that Kia is now a good buy.

I do not own one, but have really considered looking into the KIA optima. I have had my eye on the Hyundai Sonata's since the new body style came out. I am now waiting to see the Ford Fusion that comes out in fall with a new body style, then I will make my decision.

Hey all. My hubby and I bought a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid with the premium package about a month ago. We so love it!!! We actually needed our first oil change on it last week lol, so far we have 7000 kms on her...as for gas milage well we can get 1000 km per tank (65 L) or more depending on where we are driving and how much is hwy (not so great) and how much is 80 km roads.
I have owned Kias for the last 6 years and love them. My first Kia is/was a 2008 Spectra that we still own (we refused to trade it in, and have never had any issues and have only done maintenance on her).
If you have any questions about the Optima Hybrid or Optima I will do my best to answer them
Oh and a designer from Audi is the one who designed the Optima. She is a gorgeous car inside and out!

We have 2 Kias and have had no problems with them. 2007 Sedona and 2008 Sorento. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Great safety ratings and great warranty. Good luck!
