I am dying to read this! I may have to buy it for the Kindle today. A set that I love (for the chocolate folks out there) is by Anne Rice (pen-name A.N. Roquelaure) called "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty". There are 3 books to the series, and are fantastic. They are not everyone's cup of tea, but I really really enjoy them. Wonderfully written and vivid descriptions.

I read it. Did you read the trilogy? It was okay, it is like a Harlequin novel with descriptive BDSM sex. I want to hit her (which she'd probably like) every time she says "oh my" and every time she says "holy."

OMG, me too! The books were very entertaining, though not very well written. Could she not come up with another exclamation other than "Holy this" and "Holy that"???

I haven't read it but it seems to get alot of attention. I enjoy Selena Kitt's books. They are good if you are reading for "that" purpose. Nothing too naughty though but descriptive and realistic.

Anne Rice authored a much higher quality (read: better written), probably more extreme series of books along the same lines years ago. If that's the kind of thing you like...well, lol...you can't randomly open to any page of those books without being face full of it.

I have that series! Love it! Makes 50 Shades look about as explicit as Twillight. I read it about 18 years ago when I was in my late teens. The second book, Beauty's Punishment is my favorite. It might explain a lot about me now, LOL!

I think I may have read those, what were they called?

I just can't convince myself to read these books. My husband might thank me but from everything I hear, my brain and appreciation of well written literature wont! It's hard to turn off the auto-editor switch in my head and if it's as badly written as they say, I'll probably have to chuck it.

I just finished the first, started on the second today. I was fine and dandy until I found out it started as a Twilight fanfiction. UGH. It explains why Christian is one-dimensional. I'm quite bored with how he has loads of money and just throws it around. CAN YOU PLEASE ACT LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN?!

And also, it's totally clear that a woman who hasn't been 21 for quite some time wrote the book. When was the last time you heard a 21 year old say holy cow? How about holy *kitten* or Jesus Christ! Or OH MY GOD?!

I read about half of it. It's ridiculous. Ridiculously bad. And like I've said before, I liked Twilight, so my standards are low.

Women are idiots if that's the kind of man they find attractive. He's a *kitten* supreme. But then, from my experience, most women are attracted to a-holes and then wonder why their love life sucks. But I digress...

I also guess I'm pretty vanilla because that kind of...um...preference does nothing for me. Nada.

And now I have to deal with dumb women commenting on every picture of a hot dude on Pinterest with "OOOOhh my choice for '50!'" Gag me.

He changes as the trilogy continues....

If you only read 1/2 of the book you don't know how it evolves.

I did, and loved every second of it. I read all three books in the trilogy and was sad when I was done. I have found some new ones to read now though that are little more realistic. Not saying that 50 shades wasn't, just that the books I am reading now are more "my style"! The first one in this trilogy is called Against the Wind.

..... Just sitting here reading "50 Shades Of Grey" .... WOW... Anyone read it?

I read it two years ago when it was the original fanfiction story called Master of the Universe. Holy. Hotness. I am interested in re-reading it now that it was apparently cleaned up enough to be mass produced and published.

If you can get your hands on Master of the Universe, I'd highly suggest reading that version instead....

Huh, I'm pretty sure I did read at least the first one but I was a young teen at the time...I probably "borrowed" them from my older cousin who was away at college at the time.

It's not for everyone... But I loved it... I loved the story between Ana and Christen; and how it evolved.... The sex gets to be a bit much (meaning a lot of it, not how it's described), but what kept me from putting the book down was reading about thier relationship... I'm reading the series for a second time; on book 3... The first time I read it I read it kinda fast so this round I'm taking my time.... :flowerforyou:

    Laters baby!!

I never thought they were that hot. Sure, She-Ra was pretty hot, and so was Teela. They never got it on in the books, though, -- much less the TV show. I mean, my mom, let me read them. :noway:
