Flexibility.

I've been working on my flexibility for a year or so now.
I've done dynamic stretches before workouts, static after.
Foam rolling.
PNF stretching (like in relax into stretch.) This is the only one that makes a difference - but it doesn't help long term.

I'm just as inflexible as I was before. Not quite sure where to go from here.

I always heard that in order to actually increase flexibility, you have to stretch like 5 times a day. I stretch in the morning when I get up, a few hours later before workouts, a few hours later (hardcore status) after workouts and maybe once before I sleep. It just depends on how I feel at the end of the day.

Or maybe it's just genetics. I've been flexible since I was a little girl and never did anything like gymnastics or stretching sports of any kind.

Try doing yoga, it's supposed to loosen the muscles and help you relax your body.
If not, try simple stretches, then aim to push yourself further.
