I haven't cut anything out, I have learned to have it in moderation and MAC and Cheese is one of my favorite foods that I will never go without.

Same here...I eat what I want but I exercise to make up for it. I may not eat some things as often or in as big of amounts as I used to but I haven't cut anything out.

Memaw I can cut out a lot of food like warm sourdough french bread & french fries but sugar is my trigger as you well know from my crying post last night:sad:   But I'm seriously learning still how to control my portions when it comes to all those "bad devilish" type foods. Haven't been able to control myself & old habits. I can measure it out & eat pasta, mashed potatoes but OMG frosting is toooo smoooth to resist.

Think I'll go have some mac & cheese for breakfast (in the premeasured cup):drinker:

I cut out all of my processed foods, cokes, tea, coffee, fast food!!!! So I pretty much killed myself.
But really I am doing really good. I have alot 10 pounds now and I really don't miss it at all. I went to McDonalds for my girls last night and didn't order anything at all. I went home and made dinner for myself and I was pretty proud of myself for not getting anything even though I wanted to but didn't   !!!!!!

McDonald's French Fries. I love them and can't have them. If I even get a small package I woof it down and want more. I do eat a portion of baked tater tots from time to time at 160 calories for 10 tots but it's not the same. Most of the time I don't deprive myself but I do have to stay away from McDonald's French Fries.:embarassed:

I haven't cut out most things. But with my (used to have) super high blood pressure, the chinese food with its unworldly amount of sodium jumped to the top of a short NO WAY list.

o dear gawd now you've done it!!! lol i've been so good lately. i'll think of chinese food all night now:sad:  . it's my fav in the world!!!

Yes ma'am, it's some gooooood stuff. When I crave chinese food I go online and find an article about how really bad it is for you and read it. It usually helps my brain decide it doesnt want it anymore.

Really chgudnitz?!!! I honestly didn't know it was bad for you. I thought it's lesser evil compared to indian, mexican or for that matter my own native cooking (everything swims in oil and high in carbs). Please point me to some of these info you've got on chinese food. Tell you how sad I am....went to Amsterdam on my bday right and OH said to me....let's spoil you today pick a fancy restaurant and I chose ..............yeah you guessed right, chinese!!! How sad is that.

I had a meeting last night and it was at Chester's Hamburgers. Guess what I ordered??

    WATER!!!

That's it, nothing to eat. just water. I sat there while all the other ladies (about 30) had burgers, fries and onion rings. Only two people had salad. And it smelled sooooooooooooo good!!

But I went home and ate my baked pork chop and green beans.

    Go Memaw

I used to eat way passed feeling full, now thats a bad habit.
Now like most others i exercise potion control, i try not to eat too much at one time so i can eat lots of times a day. Well I've been told I'm supposed to!!

I agree - everything in moderation.
however there is one thing I know no moderation. It's good red wine. Man, I can sit down at the end of the day, the babies are in bed and I have my favorite show on... and by the time I'm heading up for the night I realized I drank the whole dang bottle!!! :drinker: :drinker:
So... right now my plan is not to forego it all together, but have my glass with dinner, then switch to mint tea or chamomile tea the rest of the night. Mint works best because the taste of mint doesn't go nicely with red wine, and I'm less likely to go back for another "splash"...

oh boy this post! I used to love boxed mac and cheese too until I started making homemade version a few years ago, so so good. I made it for my youth crew at their graduation and for other pot luck type things. But the boxed kind has really lost its appeal, I can taste the processed-ness of it and it hardly even tastes like cheese at all, we had to buy it for the youths when we were out on spike, very tight budgets plus it doesn't need refrigeration, and I was sorely disappointed by it and next time it was on the menu I made myself a pb and j.

Things I miss since I started eating better (and since becoming a vegetarian): :brokenheart: sausage mcmuffins and bagels - no egg but man I used to eat one everyday for breakfast when I was in college. Hello, weight gain! :indifferent: Scrapple - oh how bad you are for me, but you tasted so good with ketchup! I used to make little scrapple egg and cheese sandwiches with ketchup (ketchup is a vice of mine if you haven't noticed. I have switched to organic but still eat it quite a bit). Mozzarella sticks as an appetizer when we went out for pizza (i know, fried cheese overload), deep fried food in general :glasses: oh how I miss my chicken finger wraps from penn state, loaded with honey mustard and cheddar cheese. :ohwell: Taco Bell - wow I used to eat that all the dang time I swear that creamy jalapeno sauce they put on the cheesy bean and rice burritos has some kind of addictive properties to it. I would order two at a time, an entire pound of food. I also asked them to put the sauce on my nachos bellgrande when I ordered that. Now I make my own homemade burritos and quesadillas when I crave them, still very good but when I'm hungry passing a taco bell is still a test of will for me. Brownie Sundaes - OH my gosh they are so good! Fresh baked brownie with ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and nuts. Wah! Same goes for caramel apple crisp with ice cream from dennys when I used to work there. :brokenheart: This local pizza place has the best italian pizza ever ever ever! Except the slices are huge and loaded with cheese, its baked in a brick oven and delicious but I can only ever eat it as a rare treat, and only one slice. My boyfriend and I used to order a large just for us and split it (4 slices each). OUCH. Last but not least, peanut butter cup donuts from dunkin donuts. And I will eat one someday when I have the calories for it, they are so good. But only rarely from now on.

Guess its easy to see how I gained 50 pounds when I was in college haha.

I wish I could say I miss something...but I never give anything up long enough to miss it too much. The only thing I haven't given in and eaten since I started this is nachos, but that'll probably happen soon.

Nothing...everything in moderation. I'm southern...I couldn't live without sweet tea, biscuits, and fried okra. I just only have those once every other month or so.

Poutine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh, I believe in moderation too. However 1 single bite of this amazing food would most likely put me over calories.

I used to love the poutine from kfc. I looked up the cals and their small was 1400 cals. I could have that for the whole day if I burnt 100 cals.

How do you know what poutine is down in AL? It's a pure Quebecois dish! French Fries, Gravy and Cheese curd. a coronary waiting to happen.:glasses:

I have not tried this so don't blame me if it sucks but I saw it on TV today and thought I would pass it along.

They used Tofu Shirataki noodles and laughing cow cheese to make a mock fettucine alfredo. I did not catch the entire recipe but maybe google will work.

I love mac & cheese - actually pasta. I am going to try to find these Tofu Shirataki noodles.

Don't knock it before you try it. I love tofu. Shirataki can be rather chewy though. Although I must confess to you all...I've never eaten mac and cheese...ever. I don't like cheese. I have tried many different types and none have ever appealed to me. And don't mention that I should try different types...been there done that.

I refused to eat mac n cheese my whole life... but now with to demonseed's - errr... I mean children... So i tried it. It's pretty horrible. I like to make my own for girls, but some days those easy mac's come in handy when the girls are particularly grizzly/hungry.
As for Tofu... something about soy and been curd does a number on my tummy. I double over with cramps. Last time it was with edamame. sick for 2 days!!

Ugh, that sucks. I'm a vegetarian and soy one of my staples. As for the mac and cheese...same here...my daughter could eat it every day...I just don't see the appeal of it.
