Oh man! I am sooo frursterated! I have been diligently working out for going on 4 weeks now doing insanity and going to the gym but i'm only lossing weight on my upper body which didn't have any fat to loose in the first place!
I am happy with the abs but it seems not too much has happened with my legs, thighs and buttocks. Does anyone else have this issue? I don't have very much weight to loose and the fat I do want to get rid of won't budge.
How about uneven skin tone on areas like the back of your legs or butt or cellulite? My goal is to feel comfortable with my clothes off....I love what I look like in clothes, thats not the issue. I just need need need to figure out what i'm doing wrong.

I've heard that fat starts from the top and then goes to bottom. So you love weight in your face, chest, stomach and then legs. It has been my problem since I started the journey. Even after losing 30 pounds I've only gone down one pants size.0

Are you lifting weights, doing cardio? Increasing your muscle mass and losing fat will do the trick. It'll take longer than four weeks. In fact from what I hear, it's those last ten (or fewer) pounds that are toughest to lose.
Be sure to eat all your allotted calories. The body can be kindof stubborn about releasing stored energy if you're not giving it enough energy.
Don't give up!
And I don't think there's any way to get rid of cellulite.0 -
If you're naturally pear-shaped, those areas will be the toughest and you may never lose all the fat there that you'd like. All you can do is lose weight overall and see what happens.0

Sometimes it boils down to "genes" and not what you are doing right or wrong. Whether I like it or not I will ALWAYS be bigger in my butt and thigh area because that is the body shape and size that I have. I will prob never have a gap between my legs either, no matter how much I lose, why? Because my body type just won't allow it. I have cellulite too and really hope it smoothes out some as I lose more weight but more than likely it won't. I too want to feel comfortable in my "birthday suit" and keep telling myself when I look in the mirror to take a look at that pic of BEFORE you lost "x" amount of weight... heck at that time I don't think I really looked in the mirror for very long with my clothes off. I HATED, HATED, HATED how I looked, and now well not I just hate how I look.. this need to be toned that needs more gone but then I look again and see it. I see how much of this is not there now and how much flatter that looks and wow there's a hip bone. You are who you are and you have to come to terms with imperfections and learn to turn them into positives or at least when you think of those negatives let yourself also remember the positives!0

You and I must have the same body type. I lost ALL the fat from my upper body (yes all of it
) and I still have jiggle on my legs, thighs, hips and right below my belly button.
The only way I'm seeing any improvement is by eating really diligently, a lot more protein than carbs in my diet, and lots of exercise. At this point, when you don't really have a lot of weight to lose, the composition of your diet really does matter. Unfortunately for us, we are the body types who have the hardest time getting our lower body to match our upper. It may never really happen and that doesn't make you unhealthy at all.0 -
I'm going through the same thing. I've lost weight on my arms which are already small. I really want to slim down my thighs.
I'm just going to keep at it for a a few months and see what happens!0 -
Four weeks isn't very long to have been exercising. Be patient. Lift weights. Do push ups and other body-weight exercises.0

Brazil Butt Lift!
I am starting week two and have lost an inch off of both thighs and off of my hips in one week. It's very hard, but really, really good.0 -
Stick with it girl. I made a similar post, 3 months into my dilligent, intense workouts!! I had already lost all my weight, just wanted a booty that I was proud of in a bikini. Here I am- another 3 months later (still been working out aon average and hour a day) focus on cardio about 40%- lower body about 40% and then a little upper and core strength, and I am JUST NOW beggining to see the cellulite sorta dissapear! I wanted to give up after 3 months of vigorous workouts with barely no butt results- and that was the ONLY thing I was aiming for, but I am so happy I didn't, and now that I see how slowly a body can change, I am more then ready to spend the next year with my daily workouts. (who am I kidding-I am kindof addicted to workouts now...I am def a lifer!) I know it takes soooo long but STICK WITH IT!!0

Me too.. I'm going to blame gravity on this one.
I did notice a change in cellulite however when weight lifting and doing a one day a week leg program. It's significantly less now, but my thighs are still... rotund.0 -
I'm new to fitness pal but wanted to congratulate you on your work so far. Don't be discouraged with your lower body. I have that jiggle too and maybe you need to add some supplemental workouts to the insanity that you are already doing. I have had excellent resuts with the winsor pilates lower body workouts. You are barely moving but the isolation really does target those thighs and butt. Also I have seen the zaggora pants and hope to try them soon. I suspect if you combine the pants with pilates on top of your existing workout, you will have great results. Keep us posted.0

This is very true. Do you gain weight first in your thighs butt and waist? If so, you are probably a pear. Keep working at it, and they will reduce, but maybe not to where you want to be since it is just the way your body is built. You can't change your body shape, but there are routines to help even it out. More strength training on the upper body will help even out the top and bottom. Less strength training on the lower half, as you don't want to bulk up and accentuate the larger proportions down there.
Good luck!0 -
Hello, Em! I know you run, but do you do squats and lunges, that sort of thing, with weights? I have seen a huge difference in my legs from doing those sort of activities with my personal trainer.0
