frustrated but not giving up

I started about 2 weeks ago. My first weigh in, I went UP 3 pounds. I had a couple of days of going over that first week and wasn't drinking hardly any water, plus it was a bad time to weigh in.

Today I had my second weigh in. The good news is that it went down. The bad news is I only lost 3 pounds. So I am right back where I started. In the past week, I have gotten in a few more work out days and increased my water some.

It is frustrating that I have been relatively good and I don't have anything to show for it. I am an emotional binge eater and I resisted this past week when under some major stress. I guess I can count that as a NSV, but I would have liked to see some real change on the scale.

But I'm not giving up. I will work harder, get more water in, and focus on more protein and less carbs and sodium (looking at those, they were both really high). I will keep going and keep trying.

    Try not to get discouraged - sometimes the scale is the enemy. You're working hard and in time, it will pay off. Keep it up with the water!

    I know exactly how you feel.. I just started May 1st to workout 3-4 times a week and eating really good.. had lost 7lbs and then this week I gained it all back which is very frustrating because I'm still exercising and eating good.. I didn't even have birthday cake on my birthday last week :( but I'm trying to think positive and not quitting this time, if we continue doing good the weight will drop for sure.. quitting will not make it go away.

    The important thing to remember that this is marathon and not a sprint. The pounds didnt come on over night and they are gonna be slow in coming off too unfortunately. Just keep truckin' along and you will begin to see more results. I'm happy that you are not giving up. You got this.

    Um, not around that time of the month is it? I can go up almost 5 lbs around that time. Then I loose it.

    That being said, consistancy will get you there. And if you feel like your calories or exercise is off, adjust it, just be careful and do it so that you are still getting what you need. Best of luck. Rooting for you!!! {{{HUG}}}

    Not this time. First weigh in I had that "problem" so I was expecting to see some good numbers this time around. I am making some changes. More importantly, regardless of what the scale says, I FEEL better.

    It's only been 2 weeks. Just keep on keeping on. Log everything you eat, make healthy choices, get your workouts in, and keep under your macro goals. You'll lose the weight. Patience. Keep up the great work and congrats on making the decision to get healthy!

    Oh, keep up with the water. It works, I swear. The more the better.

    When I started I had my calories set at lose 1 and 1/2 pound a week, but really only lost 1/2 pound a week at those calories. Just be patient, I was although not without my cheat days too. Maybe 1 every two weeks at a 500 calorie overage too. I am 40 pounds down now.
  • Do not forget that this journey has its ups and downs but the big thing is - you lost 3 lbs - may not sound like a lot but think of what a block of cheese is and that is a lot and a great start.

    Remember that the key thing is that it is not only weight you are losing but also fat - this is the key.

    Make sure that you measure yourself once a week and weight yourself every two to three days - this way you will know what is happening with your progress - remember we are all in this one together!

    Weighed in this morning. Lost 2 pounds!! Celebrated by getting on the stationary bike and going 4 miles, which is a record for me. Thanks for all the support I have gotten here.
