you may have already seen this [b/c its on the Yahoo! homepage] but I thought I'd pass it along. I always like to know things like this:

here is the link at the end of the article: 20 superfoods for weight loss

The problem with these types of articles is that they take random facts in isolation and try to generalize them to the entire weight loss process. There are no long-term studies, so know one really knows if these things work or not. Or if they have a short-term effect, but people compensate in other ways, or they have a short-term effect but 98% of people on "diets" gain all the weight lost back within 5 years (90%-95% within two years).
Not to mention some of the items continue to focus on 'fat burning during exercise" as if that is relevant. It isn't.
It sounds like I am being overly negative, but I am not. Overall, it's good to know more facts and to choose from a variety of foods that may have benefits, but at the least may not do harm.
The main message that should come from these articles is the same message that responsible professionals have been saying for years: the best "diet" is one that includes a variety of foods, that emphasizes whole foods with minimal processing, that includes adequate fiber, that is eaten in proper portions, and that contains a healthy balance between fats, carbohydrates, and proteins.0 -
Hey thanks for posting but I think I am going to have to leave the sardines out. :laugh:0
