so if I am allowed 1200 calories, and I exercise and burn off 500 calories, does this mean that I can eat a total of 1700 calories?

yes that is exactly what that means....that is the good part about this if you have a snack or go out to eat its ok as long as you burn it off0

Also, this site sets you at the MINIMUM you should be eating for your activity level that you set in the beginning for how much weight you want to lose per week. So that means that any extra activity needs that extra fuel. Some people don't eat all of their exercise calories back, but it's a good idea to eat at least most of them. But then again you can just do trial and error to see what works best for your own body.0

Yes, but to clarify, it's not how many you CAN have, it's how many you SHOULD be having (or almost all of them, anyhow)0
