if you use the correct meaning of TDEE - ie all the energy you use - then if you eat that amount your weight will be in equilibrium, hence maintenance.

We all have a TDEE, whether losing / gaining / maintaining

I have had trouble losing, I wear my bodybugg everyday, someone said yesterday to eat 15% under my average TDEE for the week. But someone else said to eat at maintenance . Just wondering.

~ If you eat at maintenance ... you will remain at your current weight ... hence " maintain ".

If you want to lose weight ... reduce your TDEE by 15% and that will give you a nice deficit that is healthy and maintainable.

Have a great weekend ! :flowerforyou:

Yes, TDEE and calories needed to maintain are the same.

IF it is accurate, and it probably isn't better than +/- 10%, then eating what it says is your TDEE would maintain your weight.

Eating 15% less than TDEE should give you a weight loss.

If it's a bit off and you eat what it says you might gain or lose a bit, then you'll know how accurate it is.
