Double edged...

The closer I get to my goals, the more I get comfortable in my own skin, the more I hear pretty words said to me, the more I think I might be good. I could stop here and be happy, but would I? I am highly motivated, focused and driven. My goals are mostly fitness related, I have moved away from the lying, SOB scale. In fact that has been the greatest thing about going so far. I am finally free from the stupid *kitten* scale. I feel in some ways, at the beginning (a year ago) It was almost easy. Fresh on the path to a healthy life. My body wanted to be rid of the fat, I saw the pounds fly off and now any little change is like watching paint dry. I am working harder then ever before, the pay off seems small, and it would be easy to give in and stop...if I wasn't so dang determined to be the best I can. I am attracted to strength, and I want it. BAD. I take measurements and photos of myself all the time now. It is the only way to motivate myself. When people tell me I look great and must be happy to be done with my "diet" I try not to explode. This is me now, this is my life. I choose life and I choose to push myself, every single day I make the choice to better myself. I train like a champ and eat like a boss. I'm not insane, I'm happy for the first time in my life. Patience is the only real advice I have for anyone here. The closer you get to your goals the more patiences you will need. Strength training has taught me so much about myself. I have learned most of this is mental. When I go to lift, I'll have my lifting partner rack the weights and I won't even look at the weight, I'll just do it. If I looked first I would have thought, no way in hell I can squat 200 pounds, but I did. The old me would have been terrified to even try now I search out ways to reach as far as I can. When I first started strength training I was nervous to go to the the "mens" man cave side of the gym. Now I love it, have made friends with the "guys", changed my body in ways I never dreamed possible. I am finally comfortable in my own skin but I have changed how I look at this whole process. My goals are fluid and always changing, I will continue to grow and become stronger, when I reach one goal I will make a new one. I don't care anymore how long it takes the paint to dry.
Don't limit yourselves. If you wake up everyday willing to make the choice to continue there is absolutely no reason why you can't reach your goals. Never stop, never give up, never get derailed.
